wisdom teeth woes by
PK
I'm going to have to go to the dentist next week. I've been putting off
going since last March (yes - an entire year) first because I was
pregnant, and then because I was exclusively breastfeeding. I'm still
exclusively breastfeeding, but I have a stash ( by no means huge) built
up - so if I have...

New Goal Achieved! by
Cuddlefish
Woo hoo guys, DS turned 3 months yesterday - and is still exclusively
breastfed! He has not had anything else
since around 6 weeks. I fed him formula during an outing when I was not
in a position to nurse him - however, it was a complete once off.
Since the 6 week mark, I have also nursed in...

Solids before milk at 7 months? by
H Schinske
wrote:
All the resources I
find seem to assume that the baby was started on solids at 4 months. So
when things say that e.g. fork mashed stuff should be introduced at 6
months, it assumes that the baby has already had 2 months of puree.
Once your child's been through the...

How soon can an infant can take long flights? by
ted
There's a strong possibility that my baby (edd sept) will have to fly
with me to Asia when I'm still on Maternity leave. I read on this ng
before that some of the ladies took their babies at 2months. So is two
months the earliest the baby can fly long distance? Are there any
other contingencies...

pulling (and vent) by
zeldabee
What does it mean when my not-quite-5-week old pulls back with my nipple
still in his mouth? He does this from time to time. He doesn't seem
uncomfortable, or even especially hungry. I latch him on, he sucks for a
minute or two, then pulls back and wants to keep sucking, which I won't let
him do,...

Made it to 1 year!! by
Michelle Podnar
DD is a year old today! She is still about 95% exclusively BF, since she
has little interest in food. We have no plans to quit anytime soon. We
both love BF. I am so glad that I didn't give up in the early days (I had
lots of problem with poor latch, thrush etc..). I think there were 3...

OT how long did you bleed PP by
Lori
Hi ladies
How long did you all bleed after delivery. My baby will be 3 weeks tomorrow
and im still bleeding. Not very bad, but bad enough to wear a pad.
I was reading in one of my books and it said the max you should have
bleeding is 2 weeks and if it goes longer it could be because of pieces...

Could this pain be from taking Zoloft? by
Andrea
I have been on Zoloft a few months now. It worked right away and I felt
great. But it has lost it's effectiveness. I am on 50mg, do I need a higher
dose?
Also for a few nights now after taking my Zoloft tablet, I have been in
agony with waves of heartburn type pain, but no acid came up. The pain...

Prozac ?s by
Leslie
My sister is pretty sure that she has PMDD (premenstrual dystrophic disorder,
IIRC). The "new" drug for this is Sarafem, which is nothing more than Prozac
under another name.
I checked around a bit and I see that Prozac is not generally recommended for
nursing mothers. But she has tried Paxil...

Flu Questions by
Leslie
All four of my children have the flu. I thought I was getting it too, because
I was coughing, aching, had a runny nose, and had a fever of 100, but the next
day I had no fever, just a cough and runny nose. IS it possible I could have
such a short bout of flu, or do I have something else?
If a bf...

Pacifier Use by
[email protected]
Shamelessly lifted from the Midwifery Today newsletter:
A Finnish study of 484 babies aged 7 to 18 months revealed a correlation between pacifier use and increased risk of ear infection (acute otitis media). The children were assigned to one of two groups: one group's pacifier use was restricted...

egg allergy - tips (possibly OT) by
Ducky Lawyer
Just found out our 15 month old twins have an allergy to eggs. Doesn't
look overly severe at this point, but we're doing a strict elimination
diet for them, and are hoping they'll outgrow it (We don't have a
history of allergies in either family so hope that the chances are good.)
I've been doing a...

head facing the left. In his sling, he prefers facing left and now we
have started to look for it, he is mostly looking left. He's got a
flat bit on the back of his head too.
We took him to a cranial osteopath today who said that...

Questions for you who tandem nurses/nurse during pregnancy. by

Hi,
I had never heard of this until this newsgroup. I live in the UK, and have
never met 1 single person that either tandem nurses or nurses during
pregnancy.
I waned to ask a few thing, as I always waited till breastfeeding had
finished before getting pregnant again, because I always thought it...
