So confused! Oversupply, or what? by
pologirl
DS is a few days old and my milk has come in. Both breasts are soon
engorged after each feeding and leak more often than not (usual triggers:
baby feeding at other breast, baby crying, looking at baby, etc.). DS
was 1 oz over his birth weight at day 4, so he is feeding well. And he
is voracious....

my child has silent reflux? Help! by
julie
Hi,
My child is 3.5 months old. I believe she has silent reflux but not
sure. I did take her to GI ped. and he thinks it's silent reflux. He
put her on 1 ml of zantac twice a day (been 4 days now...) My child
refuses bottle when she sees it coming, even before she takes it. She
does not throw up...

Hush little baby... by
Amy
I'm trying to type up a list of lullabies so that I don't have to sit
in the rocking chair and wrack my brain to come up with a song to sing
next. They don't have to be traditional lullabies, just so long as
they're soft and slow and easy to sing...
What songs do you sing to your kids? I like...

Newby by
Tig
Hi there,
Im a newby ... just came from mkp.
In a couple of days I will be induced, and so therefore I am reading up as
much as I can on breastfeeding.
Now, I've read a lot, and done a lot of thinking as to what I want to do. I
am going to breastfeed, but I am also going to formula feed as well...

Drop in antibodies after 6 months? by
Cheryl S.
This link was in my BabyCenter email for this week.
http://tinyurl.com/35y5w
I was very surprised to read this in it, under the section on preventing
ear infections: "Practitioners such as Ruben believe that mothers
transfer certain immune-building antibodies to their babies through
breast milk....

Isn't it supposed to get better... by
Cheryl S.
I feel like I am really losing my mind, I am so exhausted. 6 weeks ago
it seemed DS was clearly moving toward sleeping all night. There was
even one night where he only got up once, and only nursed for 5 minutes.
But instead since then things keep getting worse. He has gradually been
getting up...

HBO's Rome: ancient funeral rituals? by
dkhedmo
Anyone watch Rome, or have any info to share about ancient Roman
funereal rites? While the multiple-stab-wounded Caesar was laid out to
received mourners at his home, his wife welcomed in a woman who dropped
her top, squeezed a bit of breastmilk into the dead Caesar's mouth,
then left after a...

Odd places to nurse a toddler! by
Cathy Weeks
Hi all,
We just got back from a vacation in Florida, and I ended up nursing
Kivi (two years old in December) in two kind of unusual places.
1. The beach. I never thought I'd nurse on the beach - because I wear
one-piece swim suits that are just NOT accessible for nursing. But I
forgot my...

A 6-hour feed? (long, sorry) by
Cheryl S.
I know it's normal for babies to feed continuously for a couple hours in
the evening. DD did that, usually from about 7:00 to 10:00 every
evening. I wouldn't have a problem with that. DS had been doing that,
but over the past few days it's been getting longer and longer -
starting earlier and...

Hi All
Before I post my BA and BS on m.k.p I could do with some advice.
Despite thinking I knew what I was doing second time round I am again
having horrible problems bf'ing.
After 4 days of the baby being unsatisfied after every feed I spoke to
bf consultant who suggested my latch isn't right....

Crying at a daycare by
New Mommy
Our 15 month kid just started at daycare. She is screaming when we
leave her and also off and on during the few hours she stays(we haves
tarted with few hours a day). We hear that this is the way(crying)
toddlers adjust to a new environment because of separation anxiety but
this is very difficult...

Wandering back in by
lu-lu
Hi all
I was here a couple of years ago, although I posted more on mkp. I'm back
now with baby #2 :) He's 12 weeks old, and feeding well.... I must admit I
wasn't doing so well at feeding this time - having a 2 year old demanding
cuddles everytime I tried to breastfeed was kind of doing my head...

How did you decide? by
CY
OK, so I have been lurking at mkp for a few months and I think I am starting
to think about ttc #2. But I am SO scared about it for many reasons:
1) Unwanted weaning of DD - she is VERY attached to the boobies and I know
she'll be devastated at the lack of milk that will happen further into my...

Reminder charts for midnight madness? by

As a new father of twin boys I often find myself at 3 AM, when I am
not thinking very clearly and do not have loads of patience,
confronted with one or more unhappy babies.
They've been home about 4 weeks and I am learning slowly what
possibilities exist for calming the boys. They...
