Breastfeeding and back to work by
Elaine
Ok, I'm 13ish weeks pregnant with my first, so I might just
be borrowing trouble here... I'm applying for (and have a
decent chance of getting) a full time job. Currently I work
part time, and our plan had been for me to essentially stop
working when the baby was born.
Taking this job would mean...

Setting one's self up for failure? by
cjra
I am curious to hear other's perspectives. On another parenting board,
where most of the members are young and first time moms, I read so
often that they will 'try breastfeeding and if it doesn't go well,
stop."
Now, normally I'm all for trying and being realistic. But at least for
me, such an...

Low fat oatmeal bars? squares? REcipes requested by
Ducky Lawyer
Hi all,
I'm looking for a low fat recipe which will help me consume my daily
'dose' of oatmeal, in a portable form. I'm newly back to work full
time, and can't count on having hot regular oatmeal for breakfast -- but
want to keep my consumption of oatmeal up, to help with supply.
I thought maybe a...

little house on the priarie ( bottle feeding) by
ted
When I was on maternity leave I used to watch lot of TV. I noticed
that in one of the episodes Ma Ingalls has a son after the three
girls. The baby was shown being fed by a bottle. It was an infant and
he dies soon after due to some fever or something. I thought the
storyline is set around the time...

not CIO but Cry-In-Arms? by
Jo
Anyone heard of this?
What are your thoughts?
http://www.awareparenting.com/answer13.htm
Its all so confusing! I thought it would be much kinder to them if they
didn't cry - a dummy/boob/rocking/wrapping helps that, but what do we
really know about how much a baby *needs* to cry?

6 hours!!! by

Last night Will went to bed at 6:30pm without his normal bedtime routine
- he had skipped a nap and was very tired. He fell asleep being cuddled
by dad with the dummy, and I was sent out to buy take away for dinner.
I got home to see Will asleep on his playmat, and I thought, ok, we're

Hello, I've been primarily lurking here for the past few years and posted
a couple of times. I'm expecting my first any day now (already 3cm
dilated, but not due until the 7th). I went and did all the classes at my
hospital including breastfeeding, baby care, and prepared childbirth. This

Fontanel as Hydration Indicator? by
Zucca4
I've read or heard in various places that a sunken fontanel signifies
de-hydration. Of course my husband and I lightly touch our darling son's
fonatnel throughout the day and of course it feels slightly recessed at times
and level with the rest of the skull plates at others.
Over the last four...

Alimentum / Pregestimil experience ? by
Parker T.
Hi,
Our 2 weeks old son is experiencing what appears to be some sort of
digestive problem related to milk formula. He cannot be brestfed for
a number of reasons, and we initially gave him Good Start formula.
However, around 1 week of age, he started to show some difficulty when
getting his milk. ...

bulk of the cold symptoms disappeared. Except a cough. SHe is fine during
