6 mos eating by
Nicole
Hi everyone:
I just wanted to make sure I am not causing harm to my little one.
I'm sure I'm not, but always good to get opions from other
breastfeeding mommies. Neil is 6.5 mos old and still mainly
breastfeeds. He eats some oatmeal for my sister and will eat prunes
the ones from the jar that we...

Mini pill question by
xkatx
I'm taking the micronor (sp?) mini pill, and I have been since the beginning
of January. DD2 is just about 4 months now, and still nursing fantastic.
Still refusing a bottle of EBM, still refusing anything on a spoon. This
mini pill seems to be going alright...
I am wondering, though, just a...

Breastfeeders who pump and give a bottle when out? by
cjra
Is there anyone here who does this?
I just wonder how common it is. On another board, someone had suggested
to avoid offending people by NIP, they pump and give a bottle when
they're out. Of course I said this was ludicrous, heck, one of the joys
of BF is that my boobs are portable and always...

OT - I'm published! by
teapot
Two articles of mine are in the winters edition of The Mother, an
English attachment parenting mag. This is the start of my cunning
plan to write for a living so I am chuffed to bits to get in print.
Just wanted to show off :-)

Am I feeding right? by
Jen
My dd is turning to 9 months next week. I started solid on her when she
turned 6 months, and start with rice cereal. She loves it very much even
now. However, I start feeding her with meat when she turned to 8 months,
started with Turkey. She seemed to be ok; however, this week, I start
feeding her...

yikes; Pedialyte "substitute" by
[email protected]
So I know this very nice woman who wants the best for her daughter,
but is rather uneducated as to what that might be. Her DD is two
months younger than DS, so that makes her about 15 months old.
The mama does a lot of things I wouldn't be terribly comfortable
doing, like feeding her DD Froot...

So sore update by
Andrea S
I kept on trying to feed Erin. I rang the La Leche League for advice. Until
Erin grows and can open her mouth wider this problem doesn't have a magic
cure. She is trapping my nipple against her hard pallet.
I did buy a mini-electric which isn't enough for full time pumping so am
renting a hospital...

anyone exclusively feed by bottle EBM? by
oregonchick
I have been so sick the last couple days my husband has been bottle feeding
EBM and I've been pumping every 3-4 hrs. It's just been so much easier this
way. I like the idea of mostly bottle feeding, but wonder if my supply will
maintain with this routine. What if we continue to bottle feed ebm...

new baby coming -books for preschooler? by
Karen
With new baby due end of April, I'd like to find some books for my 3 1/2
yo to prepare him a bit for the arrival and life with baby. He is at the
moment particularly unwilling to accept the idea that baby will be
nursing (he still nurses 1-2x/day). MIL gave ds a book for x-mas, but I
returned it as...

Moo's poo's and solids by
teapot
Well its day 4 of solids. Or more truthfully, it's day 4 of meticulous
preparation of extremely nice vegatables and the splattering of every
surface with the same. Moo got about 1/4 of a teaspoon of potato in
today without spitting it out. He's not overly impressed and I get
the feeling that he...

Has anyone ever tried these? by
Marie
In my neverending quest to find *something* that will increase my milk
supply, I am currently taking: 80mg of domperidone/day, 16 capsules of
Fenugreek/day and 16 capsules of Blessed Thistle/day. SIGH All this, and
I'm still oly making *maybe* 1/2 of what I need for my twin boys. While...

Best advise for bf after c-section by
Irish Marie
A friend of mine has just had a baby girl today by c-section (I am so upset
for her, they sectioned her because they thought the baby was too big, it
turns out she was 8lb 10ozs, her last baby was 10lb 2oz so I reckon this was
unnecessary!)
Anyway, before she had the baby she was intending on bf so...

NIP stories. :) by
Lina
Yesterday, DH and I went to a comic-con with Alena. This means that
yesterday my list of places that I've nursed grew about a mile. :D
The car seat on the way down, the train, in her Maya Wrap as we walked
through the Skywalk, The Metro Convention center (about a million times.)
and a GO bus full...

intro - very long - help needed by
Lee
Hiya All.
I'm pretty much at wits end, so I thought Id introduce myself, and get some
advice from the group.
To be brief, my son Sam was born 5 weeks premmie. He was quite heavy (7
pounds one), and was allowed on the ward with me. Unfortunately, after the
second day it was obvious that latching...

Going back to the bottle again by
Jakob
What I've done in the past is start out giving my baby the breast she
prefers. Then I try and switch to the less desired one. If I were you, I
would lay down with your baby and offer him the right breast. Then after
he's taken enough in so that he's not 'starving', offer him the left one,
still...

Parenting magazine inadvertently makes a point by
Jan Andrea
My mom got me a subscription to "Parenting" last year -- not one I would
have chosen, as it's full of ads and half the content is of the "how you can
pretend you don't have kids with girly-girl makeup" variety. The November
issue has an article about discipline (I think that was the topic). One...

OT bounty packs rant and vent by
teapot
In the UK we get free 'Bounty' packs, a couple when the baby is born,
one for weaning (getting onto solids not giving up BF) and one for
toddlers. I went to collect my weaning pack today. The only thing I
would consider feeding the Moo was a jar of Hipp organic fruit. And I
kept the weetabix...
