Just for info - my own little ovulation predictor! by
Cathy
As you may be aware, DD (nearly 15 months) weaned abruptly 2 weeks ago. And
guess what came today - AF. So I think the weaning may have been a
combination of illness, and yucky milk. I was secretly hoping I was
pregnant, as I had tender breasts (which I put down to slight engorgement)
and...

Help with a heavy baby? by
Mr. Nobody
Hi all ... we're the parents of a beautiful breast-fed 10-month old
boy, Jason, who's, um, quite a bit heavier than the norm. Would you
believe 44 pounds as of yesterday? (His pediatrician isn't too
worried about his growth since two months ago, but she hasn't seen him
since he had his 9-month...

Everyone is asking the question.... by
Shannon G
"Are you STILL breastfeeding?", or "When are you going to wean?"
How do I approach this, and not start a confrontation, or be too rude.
The
true answer is, "I have absolutely no idea when I am going to wean". She
doesn't eat much solids now, so I feel that she needs the nutrition...

OT Baby backpack by
[email protected]
I'm back to work in a few months and have been thinking about logistics
for getting to and from the nursery and work. At the moment it looks
like a backpack will be a good idea but I have no idea what type. Can
any recommend a good one? I didn't fare well with the Bjorn carrier so
would like to get...

Pacifiers (Dummies) and SIDS by
Beth Kevles
Hi, All --
I just read a rather unexpected report from the Guardian. It suggests
that using a pacifier (dummy) at night can reduce SID (crib/cot death)
in infants, especially when infants are sleeping in "adverse conditions"
such as in a house with smokers.
Here's the link:

TV show - toxins in breastmilk by
Andrea
Monday at 8 pm ITV1 (In the UK), apparently every woman to be should watch
this. They were saying that toxins in breastmilk can make your baby grow
slowly.
I will be watching out of interest.

Milk going sour too quickly by
Ellie
I've noticed that suddenly my EBM is going sour really quickly anybody know
why this is? The temp of the fridge is ok. The only thing I can think of
is that I'm not very well at the moment. I'm waiting to see a cardiologist
because of a very irregular heartbeat, that is making me feel really...

Antidepressants and nursing by
JJ
I'd like to hear what other people's opinions are on the safety of
antidepressants and nursing (my 10 week old) I'm not suicidal or a
danger to my kids I think, but have been pretty miserable for a few
weeks, and it isn't getting better with more sleep, exercise, etc....
and I do have plenty of...

nursing on meds by
K.B.
I have epilepsy and am on Tegretol. I have 4 kids but I didn't breastfeed
any of my children except for my youngest. I didn't do enough research at
the time and all the Dr.'s and nurses at the hospitals discouraged me from
nursing. When my 3 year old was born he was in ICU. They still...

Yesterday, DH and I went to a comic-con with Alena. This means that
yesterday my list of places that I've nursed grew about a mile. :D
The car seat on the way down, the train, in her Maya Wrap as we walked
through the Skywalk, The Metro Convention center (about a million times.)
and a GO bus full...

Green and mucousy by
Alphawave
Another poop question! Hooray! ;-)
I've had this on my mind for quite awhile now, and because of the advice
in the "5 MORE new bf'er questions" thread, I finally just have to ask.
Larry and Barbara both said things to the effect that green and mucousy
poops shouldn't be standard for baby. When...

A sad good bye by
K-K ~Glass Boobs~
I think my sanity and well being are more important! my daughter was hurt
non by the bottle!
no I don't have PPD, I don't yell at my children, or hit them. I don't cry
for no apparent reason, I don't shut my self in the house. I don't follow
any of the criteria for PPD.
You guys are just ****ed off...

Nursing Newborn Twins: Help needed for a friend please by
KC
I have no advice on the twin thing since I never did that, but I have
had to supplement with a syringe because the baby lost over 10% of
weight and was dehydrated, so I will comment.
IMHO 1oz after each feed is excessive and will probably kill bf. On
my first baby I did the 1 oz after every feed...
