Won't take bottle, advice needed by
Shell
My DD is now 6.5 weeks old and absolutely refuses a bottle. (she won't take
a pacifier either)
I'm starting back to work on Dec 26th. Ideally I would love for her to take
a bottle while I'm at work and nurse when I'm at home but she just won't
accept it. We've tried warming the nipple up,...

Won't go to sleep or nurse w/o screaming by
[email protected]
Last two nights, DS has fought me with every bit of himself when I tried
to sit him down and nurse him before he goes to sleep. He screams and
pulls away while punching at my breast. He's never been a happy nurser,
but this is more extreme than usual. To get him to nurse and to sleep the
last two...

woman in the park by
K.B.
For some reason I have been meeting alot of Moms my sons age who don't
breastfeed. I met this woman today who's son is the same age as mine, 5
months. I asked her if she breastfed and she said she couldn't be bothered.
She had no good reason other than she just didn't want to bother with it.
She...

Wits end....need help by
Karlee in Kansas
DD reached the 4 month mark a few days ago, and while we are still going
strong on bf, the past two nights leave me wanting to rip my hair out.
both nights were hell on wheels for both of us. She refuses to sleep, and
if she does by chance go to sleep, she sleeps for about a half hour then
wants...

Where I live we've been blessed with some awesome weather the past couple days
(70's). We went to the local zoo today and it was full of families and babies
of all ages. I noticed a couple with a very tiny infant (no more than 2 weeks
old I would say) and the baby began to cry. The mom picked the...

Wish Us Luck...... by
Sharon
Well.....today I go back to work. Fortunately it is on a part time
basis - my teaching schedule is such that I will only be gone M-W-F
from 9:30am to 3:30pm. Unfortunately, Sophie is not crazy about the
bottle, and we haven't had much success with it. But DH is a pretty
patient guy, so I am...

almost got enough milk to leave for him (just about to go and pump now),
though if the worst comes to the worst I've got some in the freezer. I'll

wisdom teeth woes by
PK
I'm going to have to go to the dentist next week. I've been putting off
going since last March (yes - an entire year) first because I was
pregnant, and then because I was exclusively breastfeeding. I'm still
exclusively breastfeeding, but I have a stash ( by no means huge) built
up - so if I have...

will this ever get comfortable? by
Joy Haftel
Hi, some of you may remember me. I posted here a few years ago when ds was
a baby.
Dd was born 11/26 and latched on right away. Her latch felt shallow and the
maternity nurse told me to do the "nipple sandwich" thing and walked away.
I decided this was normal newborn stuff and didn't worry too...

will she come around? by
ted
By the time I deliver this new baby in Sept, my daughter would be 18
months old. I pumped for my dd for 8 months and I just couldn't take
it anymore. I would cringe just by looking at the pump. It was just
too painful for me not to mention how to tough it was pumping 5 times
a day while working...

Will milk supply rebound--toddler? by
Spanannie
DS is almost 15 mos and has been only bf twice daily.
But, since yesterday, he hasn't wanted to eat any solids....then today he
comes down with a tummy bug. So, he just wants to nurse.....will I be able
to make enough milk for him now that we've only been down to 2? Is there
something I need to...

Will I be tired of nursing for the baby? by
Linda
Ages ago I had decided to nurse DD until she was 2 (or thereabouts). She's
2 in January and still loves it. We've cut back a lot - my suggestion not
hers and she often asks to nurse, at which I just delay it for as long as
possible, (how about after the bath, let's have a cuddle first etc...

just keep crying until i nursed. the older he got the more he woke. now, at

last friday (the 10th), i said that's it, we will have to let him cry...

will eliminating night pumping ruin my supply? by
oregonchick
Many of you already know that I exclusively pump and bottle feed. And many
of you know that my supply has been bountiful, to say the least. With over
9 gallons in the freezer, I feel that there is no reason to continue to
maximize how much I am pumping. What I'd really like to do is eliminate...

Will Cheerios increase milk prod? by
nam0827
hi.
sorry i forgot to ask this question in my earlier post. from reading here, it
is my understanding that oatmeal will increase breast milk production. since i
am not a big oatmeal fan, i am wondering if Cheerios would also work? also,
how much quantity are we talking, how many bowls per day,...

Hi everyone,
I'm an occasional poster, frequent reader. I should thank you all in
advance for providing such an invaluable resource for nursing mothers.
DD and I share a wonderful nursing relationship. When we recently moved
to Panama, we successfully weaned DD out of the family bed, and cut...

Wiggly nurser by
AlenasMom
Does anyone else have trouble with a wiggly nurser? Alena will latch on,
suck until she gets some milk and then she wiggles her bum! It normally
ends up with her falling off the breast and then getting upset until she
latches again! It was cute the first dozen times, now it's just starting to
be...

Wife has milk, but not flowing by
somebody
My wife just had a baby four days ago. She has been partially
successful in breastfeeding. But now no milk is flowing to the baby, or
she cannot obtain any using the breast pump. She tried placing a heating
pad on her breasts, then tried again to no avail. Her breasts are
swollen, hard, and...
