Babies and hot days by
Zen Cohen
When the temperature is in the high 90's and heat index is 100-degrees plus,
would you take your nine- or ten-month-old baby outside for walks and other
activities? If so, for what's the longest you'd do so for and what
precautions would you take (eg, clothing, hats, fluids)? If not, what's...

diff between normal leg cramps and more serious by
Linda
Hi all, I know it's pretty common to get leg cramps at night, but reading
about it in articles online they reckon "If your muscle pain is constant and
not just an occasional cramp, or if you notice swelling or tenderness in
your leg, call your physician. In rare cases, moms-to-be develop a...

Hair highlights (xpost) by
Emily
Hi folks,
I'm supposed to be a bridesmaid on 9/4 (day before
my due date), and of course would like to look my best.
While not pg, I've been doing highlights in my hair
(at a salon), but haven't since ttc, so they're all
grown out now. The hairdresser says that with highlights,
the stuff doesn't...

Peri appointment @ 34w1d by
Emily
Hi Joy,
That OB sounds fantastic! I'm glad you got to see
her. Did you get the references from her on the latest
studies that back up the point that outcomes don't
change with c-section v. vaginal birth?
Too bad about feeling sick. I hope you recover quickly.

9 month old keeps waking up by
Kevin
Hi all,
Our almost 9 month old boy keeps waking up at night. He used to sleep
through the night until he was about 6 months old, then started waking up
once to feed at about 2 AM or so. For the past month he's been waking up
3-4 times between 10pm and 7am. He does not always feed and when he...

vaginal birth after c-section by
chris
Has anyone been induced in a second pregnancy after having a c-section
the firsttime around? It's been 3 1/2 years since my c-section but my
doctor will not induce me for fear of the scar rupturing and creating
an emergency c-section. Now she will let me go a normal vaginal birth
but just will not...

Help wanted for woman facing induction by
Sarah Vaughan
One of the blogs I follow on the Net - http://www.leerypolyp.blogs.com
- is written by a woman now overdue with her first child. She's given
the various non-medical methods of induction a fairly thorough try, with
no luck, and is imminently facing the prospect of a pitocin induction.
She is...

Monitor doppler thingy by
Mogget
I'd like to get one of those things for listening to my unborn baby.
Looking on ebay it seems there are two types - dopplers, and the other
ones that aren't dopplers :-P
Anyone have any opinion as to which is the better buy?

possible ultrasound result for down syndrome by
Q-man
My wife had a blood test called "triple screen" and the result is
normal.
In between 19 and 20 weeks, she got a ultrasound and the result showed
that there is a bright spot on baby's heart.
Doctor recommends to have an "amnionic fluid test".
Coming september, she become 35 year old.

37w update by
Emily
Hi folks,
This morning I decided to try walking DS to daycare (1.5 miles
roundtrip). I used to do this all the time but discovered
early in this pg that I could either do my walking or have
enough energy for the rest of the things I do in a day.
Well, not much else to do today, and sometimes...
