Baby spits up blood after breast feeding by
Lek
Hello,
Yesterday my baby spat up some blood shortly after breastfeeding. I
immediately told my husband and we called the doctor. The baby seams fine
and the doctor told us that it could be related to cracked nipples. Mine
are cracked and sore. If the baby spits up after bottle feeding, there is...

Need Advice: Breastfeeding with 3 older (13+) stepson's by
2drinksbehind
I am about 3 months pregnant and I have 4 stepson's (one away at
college) ages: 13, 13, 16 and 18. The boys reside with my husband and
I on a full-time basis. I have a good relationship with all of the
boys and they were actually quite excited when we told them that we
were going to have a baby...

stinky belly button on newborn...??? by
oregonchick
Emily is 9 days old now. We've been taking care to keep the belly button
stump dry, and watching it for any sign of problem. I started to notice
today that something about her was stinky. I assumed her bottom, but
realized the odor was coming from the cord stump. There is no redness...

Poll: Birth Control by
Amy
What sort of birth control are you other nursing moms on?
I'm on Ortho-Micronor but I don't like it. I don't get a period, and I
am just sure that I'm going to start showing any minute now because
I've gotten pregnant again and don't realize it. I tried on a skirt
yesterday that's a little tight...

How can women make and keep their breasts healthy and good looking? by
trotsky
Here is my opinion on how women can make and keep their breasts healthy
and good looking. But before giving the methods, one must know what
constitutes a pair of healthy and good looking breasts. Since
beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, I can come out and say the
breasts are attractive when...

OT religion and smacking by
teapot
On the train yesterday I was talking to a woman who was keen to tell
me that children need to be disciplined from an early age. I did all
the neutral 'oh really, well that's not how I want to do it but thanks
anyway' stuff but then she told me that she had read about it in a
book her pastor had...

upset at nanny -- vent by
Irrational Number
Hello ladies, I'm unlurking to vent about my nanny.
I got the stomach flu Monday night, so I stayed home
Tuesday and Wednesday. So, in one of our casual
conversations, the nanny told me that when she's
taking a snack break, Pillbug mouthes so excitedly
that she GIVES HIM A BIT OF WHEAT BREAD!
I...

another thing - white milky discharge and anal rash? by
cjra
Thanks to all for humouring me through my many paranoid new mom
questions. Here's another -
first, most of DDs other 'symptoms' have subsided. She still has the
face/neck rash but it's gone way down. She's eating well, fussing less,
etc. So I'm inclined to think there's no regular food intolerance...

Is letting a baby sleep on your chest a big no-no? by
cjra
I've seen elsewhere people comment that they're 'bad parents' for
letting their baby sleep on their chest (I have asked there as well).
Is this like sleeping on the stomach and another SIDS risk?
DD *always* naps on my chest during the day. It's the only way to
assure a nap that's greater than 30...

What Happened to Breastfeeding on Sesame Street? by
Ubiquitous
By Ann Tracy Mueller
I have to admit. It’s been years since I made a visit to Sesame Street. I
won’t give away my kids’ ages, but let’s just say one is Gen X and the
other a millennial. And, when my older grandchildren were Sesame Street
age, I didn’t watch it with them.
So, I’ve been out of...

15 Times Breastfeeding Was Shown to Be a Really Bad Thing On Screen by
Barb May
Hollywood has the perfect opportunity to positively represent a
mother's choice to breastfeed, yet often TV and movies sexualize
nursing or make it a laughing matter. While the American Academy of
Pediatrics recommends that mothers nurse their baby for the first six
months of life at least, the...
