Jolly Jumper by
Kereru
How long would/do you leave your baby in the Jolly Jumper? DS (three months)
would spend all day in it if it was up to him :-) but I have been limiting
it to fifteen minutes. DH thinks half an hour is okay, any opinions?

How ironic that the "immoral" Clintons produced a fine young lady

Lower case letters by
P. Tierney
When is it best to start pointing out and teaching lower
case letters? By age, skill or understanding level, or whatever.
My only concern is trying to avoid confusion -- why there
is both a "B" and a "b" for one letter, for example, and introducing
something that could cause a setback. So what...

Probably a repeat question, but I didn't need the answer till now! :-) by
Corinne Pierson
Hi, all - and Happy 2004 to you! I'll cut to the chase:
How does one deal with a Toddler who refuses to poop? Flat-Out REFUSES.
Pediatrician gave us a mild laxative, and suggested Mineral oil in
food/drink - it worked the first time, but now, 5 days with no poop, it's
not working. She was pooping...

Flying with toddler by
Libby
Hi there,
I'll soon be flying five hours to Hawaii with my 2 1/2 year old son.
Is it considered okay to give him Benadryl or PediaCare to help him
sleep on the plane?
Can anyone tell me which medicine is best?
Thanks very much and aloha, Libby

problem with my mom & DS (long) by
toypup
DS used to always cry when my mom came to visit. He didn't do it with
anyone else but her. We'd tell her he liked men better. He did, but she
was the only one he reacted so strongly to. Since she couldn't get positive
attention from him, she responded by trying to get negative attention...

The Boohbahs by
P. Tierney
Has anyone seen the show? It starts on PBS on Jan. 19, though
not on my outlet. It looks as if it's been in England for awhile,
complete with merchandise and everything. Anyway, based
upon the information at the PBS site, it looks like it has
potential, and I'm wondering if it's worth asking...

Origins of "This little Piggy" by
laurie
I was just reading a collection of Beatrix Potter Nursery Rhymes to the kids,
and came across one called "Piggy went to market". It's basically the same as
"this little piggy" except says "this little piggy had meat" instead of roast
beef, and "this little piggy cried because he couldn't find his...

CTTD! by

Ds (3y3m) is *obsessed* with hockey. He runs around the house all day with a
ball on his stick (which is heavily taped to protect our floors, btw). So I
go downstairs to put in a load of laundry and I hear all this rustling up in
the kitchen. I go upstairs and he's got a plastic ziploc baggie on...

MY BABY'S DADDY
A film review by Steve Rhodes

MY BABY'S DADDY, a completely laughless comedy, wants to be a mild message

crazy straws -- where to buy? (US) by
Marty Billingsley
Hi --
With the girls' birthday coming up I'm thinking crazy straws as party
favors. But where to get them? A Google search wasn't as enlightening
as I had hoped....
Anybody know of a good online store (or national chain of retail stores
in the US) that might carry some?
Also, any great party...

Sleeping baby on different level? by
von
We are considering purchasing a home where the master bedroom is on the upper floor, but the room that would eventually be a baby's room is on the ground level, near the house's main entranceway.
If we were to purchase this house and eventually have a baby, we would obviously child-proof stairs...

OT sorta: Sprained ankle by
Sue
I fell yesterday coming off of our front porch steps (we got a huge
snowstorm yesterday). I thought I had cleared the third step, but I didn't
and I fell and hurt my ankle. I'm going to the doctor today, only because I
have never sprained or broke anything and I'm not certain I didn't break...
