Math program by
LFortier
(I'm asking this question in an effort to up the on topic,
non-cross posted quotient in m.k.)
Has anyone heard of a math program called Trailblazers?
Apparently, our school system is planning to start using it
for elementary school. The little bit of research I've done
has shown some anti-program...

co-sleeping... again?! by
Chris Scaife
DS complained that mummy smokes cigarettes in bed.
While I thought it an irresponsible fire risk I did't feel in a position to
confront my ex on the issue... so I asked what the problem was.
Apparently she smokes them in *his* bed and he has asthma.
He is eight years old and she sleeps with...

Asking for input.... by
P. Tierney
A pediatrician friend of mine is considering making a booklist
available to her patients. It wouldn't be pushed, but it would
simply be made available in the waiting room as one of the
fliers that they could take home. It would include some
recommended titles in different areas (Basic Baby,...

Long car trips and infants by
M. Tettnanger
We have a 1-month old son who is working out rather well.
We have a 900-mile (each way) car trip coming up in three
weeks, and a 2000-mile trip in two months.
My question is how well infants handle all-day trips when
stuck in a car seat. Do they pretty much sleep through
it all? About how much...

Child Pornographer by
Chris Scaife
I only use this e-mail address on misc.kids.
Someone sent me (and about 100 other people) an item of child porn.
What if someone's child opened that kind of message ?
Perhaps some people don't like what I have to say,
but their tacticts won't be winning any arguments today !

concerned about growth by

Hi, My husband and I aren't tall so it is no surprise that our 23
month old daughter is short. I am 5' 1" and my husband is 5' 8". Here
is the problem: I have all my childhood records and at 23 months old
I was 2 inches taller than my daughter is now. She is only 31 inches
tall and 24 pounds. In...

OT - Doll House experiences and questions (xpost) by
Cathy Weeks
Hi all,
When my mom went to dental school (I was nine when she started, 13
when she finished), she bought me a dollhouse kit to work on, because
I was nine years old, and it was going to be our first summer apart.
This was the summer of 1978, and the kit cost around $75.
At nine, I really wasn't...
