DD must have something to hold by Linda
Just thought I'd share this - I find it rather amusing. DD 15 months is still keen to nurse often, but she must have something to hold. She'll ask to nurse, get very excited when I say ok, and then quickly run and grab something to hold while she nurses, ie a block, teddy bear, balloon etc.

DD not eating well by Jenny
DD Ilona is now 19 months still BF, I am having a bit of problems with her eating. When she turned one I pretty much switched her to adult food, I normally do not make special food for her she eats what we eat, unless it is something spicy or seafood etc. Up to about a week ago she was a great...

cosleepers who put their mattress on the floor.... by Linda
Ok so this might be a dumb question, but those people who cosleep, and put their mattress on the floor to prevent their kid(s) from rolling out - do you still have bedside tables?? Because they would then be way too high up to be useful. But if not, do you just plug in an alarm clock and lamps...

Breast Feeding by Hippie Chick
I myself am a mom who loved breastfeeding. It made my life and my babies lives so much easier. It was such a bonding time, and comforting time for both my and my children. I found that I went down to my pre-birth weight faster then some of my friends that we not able to nurse. It's a very...

Weaning and Ovulation by [email protected]
Hi... I just finished weaning DS. Funny, the last feeding was 5 days ago and I'm 10 days into my cycle. Today I got a shift in temps (I use a BBT and chart, as we're trying for baby # 2). It's weird, since I never normally ovulate this early... I've weaned very slowly...but I'm wondering if its...

What can I take for a cough? by cjra
A really BAD cough? I've had a cold -which starts with flu like symptoms but no fever - every 2 weeks for months now. It gets better after a week then the next week starts again. This time, it's at its worst, and the drainage (finally - I was having a really hard time breathing at all, even...

Encouraging without being a BF Nazi.... by cjra
Do you find there's a fine line? Or maybe I'm just being extra sensitive. I have a friend who was due early April. She told me at her shower she wanted to try to BF. Though no one in either of their families had done so, which made her a bit nervous, but generally they were supportive (at least...

HIV and breastfeeding by Anne Rogers
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6507309.stm I thought this was interesting, it seems to remain the case that if you can formula feed exclusively and safely then that is better, but if that isn't possible that exclusive breastfeeding is the next best, I can see that mothers might thing that...

New Baby Teeth Are Yellow by Melanie
DS started teething early and had his 1st tooth by 4 1/2 months. Now at 6 1/2 months he's got four teeth with 2 more on the way. Anyways, at least 2 of his teeth look yellowed. He's exclusively breasfed, has never had a bottle and is not on any iron. He's barely started solids (has had...

Biting due to cold by Carlye
DS (almost 10 months) bit me for the first time yesterday. And the second. And the third. I'm confident he is doing it because he has a cold. He struggles to breathe sometimes as it is due to tracheal compression, but now he's stuffy, too. However, he is still also teething, so I can't rule...

Just a question... by xkatx
I was wondering... What way do you find to be the most comfortable or comforting way to feed? Like, if it was possible for you to nurse the way you like best every time, what way would that be? And why? What about least favorite? I just ask because today I was laying in bed with DD2 feeding...

I got a lump under my left armpit when I was pregnant with Micah (3 years ago... yikes!!) and it never went away.
