baby pics by
Alicia
Hmmm.... don't think that other link that I posted worked for some people,
here is a different site that is easier to access. I can't wait to get some
Christmas pics of this little guy. I'm planning to do a photo shoot with
him (if he's willing), with a santa hat and nothin' else. : ) Should...

sleeping/nursing patterns by
Alicia
Hello All, I am the mother of an incredibly wonderful little boy who is
coming up on 15 weeks! I can't believe how much he's grown and changed
already. Anyway, he is being nursed on demand, and he sleeps with us in our
bed. Since he was born he has nursed every hour, sometimes even...

OT poll c-section recovery time by
Alicia
Hey ya'll, I'm just wondering, for any of you who have had a c-section, when
did you begin to feel like you had something like normal energy again? For
this last week I've been so utterly exhausted. I have been walking every
day, sometimes for a couple of hours, sometimes shorter, as well as...

Alicia Elliott
Hello all! Some of you I know, and others I am enjoying reading about from
your posts. I just recently had my baby, and thought I would check out this
ng since I've been a regular on MKP for the last several months. : ) My
name is Alicia, I'm 29 and have just had a beautiful baby boy (Aug 9th)...

No cry sleep? by
Alina
I recently read Liquid's post about baby not wanting to let go off the
brest (I wish Liquid the best of luck with that), and many answers
mentioned the No Cry Sleep technique. What is that? My 2month DD has
a bad habit of waking around 12 pm and just not wanting to go back to
sleep, breast or no...

Conflicting Info by
Alison
Ok, so "They" say finish the first breast first before going over to the
second. Seems like good advice but then they say that a breast doesn't
actually empty cos it's always making milk on-the-fly after a few weeks of
b/f'ing so how can you 'finish' it?

OT Under Cover by
Alison
I'm re-posting in case you missed me as Poppy.....
"Dear Friends
I needed to change my ID cos of recommending local folk to have a look on
here so I was (and still am IRL) Alison. Annoyingly I didn't get this
opportunity when setting up originally but now it's a must for professional
reasons and...

Liquids other than breastmilk by
Alison
Touched on in my vent post - orange juice.
I'm sure that I've read somewhere that citrus juices should be avoided. Can
anyone confirm or deny? I'm sure also that our dentist recommends only
water or milk up to the age of 5 (that'll be fun!!) but I need to double
check that cos I read the...

Magical Bl**dy Solids (Vent) by
Alison
Oh it's the answer to everything - "when he's on solids it will right
itself" - particularly with Health Visitors. I called yesterday cos DS has
been waking up over the past few weeks screaming with chronic wind (30 weeks
old now) and can't go back to sleep til he's almost purmped his pants off...

Update - Talking to Someone by
Alison
Gosh thank you all so much for reaching out to me - it touched my heart and
made me cry to think that so many folk out there care and we've never even
met. I haven't fallen over the edge but I did take on board many of your
wise words.
I've got my head straightened out a little and my attitude is...

Need to talk to someone (long) by
Alison
How do you know when you've got PND? I can't cope anymore. I'm dreading my
DP going back to work. I'm tired and weary and I'm fed up with having to
carry DS about in order that he doesn't cry. It's difficult going out to any
other venue cos DS was vaccinated with an icicle and any temp over...

Wednesday Depression (Rant) by
Alison
Yes I know it's Thursday but my server wasn't playing ball yesterday.
Wednesdays depress me cos I go along to a b/f support group where lots of
mums get together and chat about stuff - no sleep, not enough milk, waking
through the night etc. Like a live mkb but nothing like a live mkb. A
midwife...

New Meaning to Toe-Curlingly Painful by
Alison
Due to my nips being so painful cos of the thrush, I tipped Ro in closer to
me, tilting my lap by tip-toeing my feet. 7 or 8 times a day and 15 weeks
later my big toenail on both feet has decided to puncture the skin on the
side of my big toes and it's now all inflammed and infected. Nice. ...

Rapid Iron Depletion by
Alison
My Health Visitor said that if I was thinking of waiting until 6 months to
begin weaning then I should remember that iron intake rapidly depletes after
6 months with a b/fed baby. How can this be? Surely the iron content is
constant? I know that formula has more but is less readily absorbed. ...

Head Thrashing by
Alison
When DS goes to bed in the evening, just when he's almost asleep he starts
thrashing his head from side to side then just manically keeps bouncing it
off the sheets on just the right side. This goes on for about 15 mins. He
doesn't cry whilst he's doing it, doesn't even seem awake. He doesn't do...

Bottle feeding (vent) by
Alison
So we started doing one EBM bottle feed per day at midnight by DP as soon as
DS got home from hospital at 2 weeks old. There was no nipple confusion and
it allowed me to get a sleep from 10.30pm to 3am (much needed). He wasn't
fussy who gave him the bottle, even me when the thrush was so bad I...

Hindmilk by
Alison
My 4 month old ds seems to have decided that he only likes really fast
flowing milk and yanks n pulls n squeaks n kicks n punches until he gets
changed to the other side. I'm concerned cos this happens after about 5
mins max and (following other post) I'm trying to work on 'finish first
breast...

Hello and Help by
Alison
Hi there,
I've been lurking for about a week and fortunately found this ng at *just*
the right time whenI was at my lowest on b/f feel good factors. I'm 38 and
a first time mum to Rowan who is now 8 weeks old. He was 6 weeks pre-term
though very healthy but we've had our trials and tribulations....
