Update: A Great Nurser by
Lina
Alena's doing so well! It's amazing how well babies can do when they are
well cared for! She should be back home on Monday, providing she stops
losing weight. Right now she's down to 5lbs 10 oz from 5lbs 15oz. They're a
little worried, but not too much.
CAS is finally off my back, and they're just...

green poop by
jake's mom
What does an occassional green poop mean? I've read too much foremilk-not
enough hindmilk but DS only eats from one breast per feeding. Should I
stretch that out to 2 feedings? He had one green stringy poopy diaper
yesterday and one today. The other 4 or so poops he has everyday are...

Taking a bottle by
Larry McMahan
If I am right, you baby is 3 mos now. That is a bit early for a sippy cup.
I suggest that you try feeding her with an eye dropper if she will not take
the bottle.

Brag (warning: sleeping thru night ment.) by
Joy
My 3-month-old boy slept for 9 hours straight two nights ago! (His usual
stretch is 7 hours without waking/eating--and he usually sleeps another 2
after a snack.)
He also takes a 3 hour nap most afternoons (plus one or two shorter naps in
the morning).
Mind you, I know this is not a result of my...

Nursing Necklace Question by
Karen
DD is starting to become distracted while nursing, so much going on with her
older sister, friends and pets roaming around the house all day, somtimes it is
just the sun shining thru the window that is a distraction. Sometimes she
jerks her head to see what is going on and it can be quite painful....

OT (kind of):Poop schedule by
CY
I just wondered if anyone else experiences the same thing we have going on.
DD is almost 17 months and still mostly bf'd. She does not eat a whole lot
of anything on a regular schedule although she often grazes on whatever I
happen to be eating. Anyway, since we started on solids (around...

Sickness bug :o( by
andrea
All of my kids have had a sickness bug, and now I have it. I cannot keep
anything down not even water, and after breastfeeding Kam I feel worse.
It's been 12 hours so far. Will this affect the breastfeeding? and will I be
ok as I am dehydrating?
Thanks for your help.

UPDATE: Pulling at breast (Cracked nipple advice needed) by
Jodie
Well, as you can tell from the subject line, the football hold did not
turn out to be my saving grace. She saw it as an opportunity to not
only pull my nipple out with one hand, but two! (stinker!!)
However, I am happy to report that, after trying the football for a
couple of days, we have gone...

Gassy baby by
Jen
I do need advice about my gassy baby. DD is 5 weeks old and she is getting
fussy in the evening recently. DH & I suspect DD might suffer from gas by
the end of the day. I have talked with the community nurse, and she
suggested us to use gas relieve drop, but still it has not improved. And
another...

Yogourt (OT) by
Cheryl M. \(ChatBrat\)
Does anyone have any solid references which explain why yogourt is different
from cow's milk and, therefore, can be introduced earlier than cow's milk?
(By solid, I mean true scientific data). My DH (family physician by trade)
is going on and on about cow's milk being introduced too early...

Weight gain in breastfed babies V formula fed babies by
andrea
Hi,
I am breastfeeding Kamron now 5 weeks old today.
He gained a pound each week for 3 weeks running, he was nursing almost
non-stop!
Today I found out he gained 13 ozs, which surprised me, as he has started to
sleep for 6 hours a night in his cot, and has started to space out the day
feedings. He...

OT Sleep help by
Beth Kevles
Hi -
Have you taken her in to her doctor to see if there's any physical
discomfort that's keeping her awake?
Have you tried offering her a pacifier or a bottle (of EBM or water) at
night to help her go back to sleep? (The advantage of a bottle is that
you can gradually put less and less into it...

Agitation in the night... by
Ivan Debono
Hi all,
Like many of you, I finally moved from the .pregnancy newsgroup to this
one!!!
My son is just 4 weeks old and although he drinks breastmilk, it is pumped
and he drinks it from the bottle. I don't know if this is related to my
question but just for info.
He is a very quiet baby, hardly...

Question on Avent Isis manual pump by
Irina
I plan to use this pump at work, but it says in the instructions that
it needs to be washed and sterilized after each use!!! I need to pump
at least twice while I am at work, and of course there is no way I can
sterilize it or even wash as the "breastfeeding room" at work is
nowhere close to the...

Too late to correct a bad latch? by
ted
When is it too late to correct a bad latch? My 4 mo old dd doesn't
nurse like she means it. She's a snacker and she's not interested in
nursing at all. She think it's playing and she looks at me and smiles.
Someone on this group suggested I call IBCLC to see if they can help.
I was wondering if...
