weaning by
Dawn Lawson
no, not me.
Friend going in for surgery, has decided to wean her baby over the
next month or so, baby currently 8+months old. Asked at our LLL
meeting how to wean kindly, got dozen reasons not to wean. Still
plans to wean, still wants to do it as gently as she can.
Baby is quite "addicted" (wants...

getting teeth by
azure
I can see Audrey's bottom teeth under her gums now and in the last few days
she is getting very chompy with her gums, exhibiting a totally new way of
mouthing things with a brand new grizzly cry. She is 5 months old in 2
weeks and her cousin got teeth at 5 months, so I think this may be...

kicking when feeding (10 weeks old) by
teapot
Moo boy will kick against anything his feet touch and this is making
feeding really difficult as it is almost impossible not to touch his
feet with my legs when feeding. Any ideas anyone? I don't think I'm
up to slinging him over my shoulder and feeding him upside down.

Yet one more use for bm by
Karen Askey
I have had my rosacea flare up lately with scaliness around the creases of my
nose. I used some of the MetroCream my mom uses for her rosacea but it was not
getting any better after a couple of days. Usually that stuff clears it up
quickly. So one nite when I was feeding Joey and the bottle of...

Ultrasound for recurrent plugged duct, treatment one by
Chotii
On the advice of (well, ultimately) Dr. Jack Newman, I arranged for an
ultrasound treatment of my right breast today. My doctor had to write up
orders for it. I've a duct (upper quarter, under my armpit) that has been
plugged more of the time than not since day 3, and baby G is now 22 days
old. ...

Question for BFing Moms that have used Diflucan by
iphigenia
Karen wrote:
I believe that I have a yeast infection and I have a prescription of

Hales has it listed as L2. Has anyone had adverse side with their
nursing babes.
Not at all. It's very, very commonly prescribed for moms when combating
thrush.

Smacking lips and playing around by
Lina
I never thought that this would be considered a problem, but here it is.
Alena seems to just want to play around while nursing. She grabs at toys or
hair or fingers or (ouch) nipples instead of nursing. If she's not holding
something, she won't nurse. The trouble is that she always lets go of...

Low Carb or No Carb while bf? by
Spanannie
I'm bfing my ds, 14 mos, and would like to give this South Beach Diet a try
(first 2 weeks are no grains, fruits, sugars, etc). I don't have much more
weight I'd like to lose and it looks easy enough.
Is it ok to do this while bf, though?
Thanks,
Annie

update on being asked to nurse elsewhere by
Corrie
Hi again everyone,
Thanks again for all your notes about my being asked to move to the
back of a store while nursing. A little detective work showed me that
the woman who asked me to move was actually the store manager. I
figured under those circumstances, writing the manager wouldn't do me
any...

Power Failure, DH by
New York Jen
Well, here in the northeast US we just experienced a 6 hour power outage.
We managed just fine, but were getting a little crabby and hot about a half
hour before the power came back on. DH said, "See, it's times like these
that it's so great to breastfeed." Yippee for him!
