18 weeks and no movement by CY
A friend of mine is 18 weeks pg and still cannot feel *any* movement. I was feeling flutters by at least 14 weeks and I am very overweight (she is about 112 lbs soaking wet!). Is it something she should be concerned about? Or is it because she is small, her baby is small and therefore she can't...

Pain in pregnancy after C-section? Showing more the 2nd time around? by Donna Metler
I had a classical C-section with my first pregnancy, and I'm noticing quite a bit of pain now, even early in the 2nd pregnancy. My OB says that it will hurt some as the scar stretches, but I'm seriously wondering what this is going to be like later in pregnancy if I can already feel it at maybe...

Telling people. by Cathy
Why does it seem so much harder to keep this pregnancy a secret?! Last time, we held out till I was 13 weeks. This time, I think half the world knows! Today at coffee group we were talking about getting pregnant, as 2 of the other ladies are. Someone asked me when we were thinking of...

bumper sticker idea by Vicki S
I have this vague idea for a bumper sticker that says something like: Midwives: Better, Safer, Cheaper, Nicer But the adjectives are wrong. I definitely want something that says midwifery care is less expensive, because to whomever pays the ultimate bill (insurance company for example) it is. ...

First OB visit by Fer
So I had my first OB visit today. It turned out that it was with a different OB from the one I thought it would be but overall I did like her. She explained pre-eclampsia (which I do have) as well as what the 'plan' is for me. It was quite different from my MWs who've learnt to ask what I...
