Errin and breast feeding! by
[email protected]
I breastfeed my 2 year old until she was ready to stop at 15 months and
then I had a horrible case of engorgement..OUCH! I am talking Amazon
woman.
My five month old lost 15 oz. at her three month check up so I was
forced to start supplementing formula bottlefeedings earlier than I
wished. Next...

baby straining too much? by
T
What can I do about my 1 month old son, who is breastfed and supplemented
with formula. He only poops once every 2 or 3 days and in between, spends
most of his time turning red/purble due to straining and pushing. he does
pass a lot of gas. The pushing and arching back and squirming makes it...

Leigh McCuen
We had our weight check, and my daughter has gained 7 ounces in the past
two weeks!
The pediatrician wants to do another weight check in 2 weeks, to keep an
eye on things. She's also talking up testing for celiac disease, doing a
thyroid check, and something else. I told her that we had a...

Too much nighttime nursing? by
Zucca4
( I don't think my original subject line was specific enough)
Michael Jude is 10 weeks now and still co-sleeping with us. I nurse him to
sleep each night as it seems to be the olnly way to get him to drift off into
never-never land. I'll deal with getting him to sleep on his own later on...

nursing necklace? by
Kari
Does anyone have or use one? I've seen them on several natural baby type
sites and I think I might order one. Xander has become easily distracted
while nursing and has done the string cheese thing to my nipple more than
once in the last few days. I just thought I'd ask here first to see if
anyone...

Barbara (Circe) is doing well (cross-posted) by
Leslie
I'm so glad to hear that she is going to be o.k.! My husband has asthma too,
so I hav been finding this especially terrifying. There are so many good
medicines for prevention nowadays; I am sure they will find something that will
prevent this from happening again.
Please let Barbara know that I...

3 month growth spurt by
Bach
If this is a growth spurt, I will be relieved. My DS has been eating
approximately every 45 minutes (during the day) for the last 2 days.
I'm becoming exhausted, and nothing soothes him like nursing. Part of
me is a bit concerned that he's overeating. He is already almost 18
pounds at 3 months,...

DD is doing well. Her weight is up to 10.5 - 11 lbs (up from 8 lbs 6
oz at birth) and bf is no longer as difficult. You guys are right - it
does get easier. A couple things we're still working on:
-- She still has periods of constant nursing where she'll nurse every
30 - 60 mins for 3 hours or so,...

Is it normal if baby's tummy rumbles while nursing? by

My baby had diarrhea for a month. Since then, I notice her tummy
rumbles big time when I am nursing her, sometimes a couple of hours
after nursing. The gas generated makes her very uncomfortable. Is this
normal? What are the possible causes? Is there anything I can do to
make it better? Please...

one more question--about hormones by
CarolynRS1
The hormones are driving me nuts. I am not sure if it's BFing hormones or PP
hormones. It does not take much to make me weepy and I am having hot flashes.
I am driving myself and DH nuts! It's not PPD. I'm just very ultra-sensitive.
Most of all--I feel extemely happy to be a mom to 2 wonderful...

18mo wants me to nurse her bears! by
Al Bell
My 18-month-old daughter, who nurses on demand when she's not in daycare,
now wants me to nurse her toy bears and put shoes on them.
I couldn't find any references to this type of thing in the baby books and
was wondering if other toddler parents out there are experiencing this
sort of thing.
