Attention fat, obese posters! You CAN lose weight! by
Slimmed Down Bob
No doubt many parents who hang out in this newsgroup are obese.
Some may even think that they cannot lose weight.
So they continue eating their ice creams, cookies, and so on.
And set a bad example for their kids.
I have news for you: you can lose weight and keep it off.
Just get off your fat...

article forwarded by a friend - what do you think? by
H Schinske
"Our culture no longer offers what children need to truly thrive. While happy
families were once the norm, more and more we see parents and children rushing
frenetically from one task to another; children whining, bickering, tantruming,
pouting; parents nagging, complaining and trying to ignore...

Big wheel Bike by
JustMe
My son is turning 7 soon and he is a bit big for his age.
He has not yet got the hang of riding his two wheel bike yet.
Now he has spotted a bike called a "Big Wheel" and has asked me to buy
this for him about 10 times.
I just thought he was being silly as it just looked like a tricycle to
me.
Then...

So we were back in Wisconsin last week on a visit and saw lots of Halloween

Another Car Seat Q - boosters by
Nikki
Does anyone know the official word on the backless boosters. Are they as
safe as the ones with a back?
I'd prefer the backless kind because I don't have to tether them but can't
find out if they are equally as safe. I'm not talking about the kind that
has the bar that goes down over the lap. ...

childhood vacinnations by
lizzard woman
Embarrassing question...
My girls will be 9 in November and I'm wondering if they need any shots
soon.
They have had the following:
DTP - 5 shots, last one in 2000 (but there is a space for one more on the
form)
Polio - 4 shots, last one in 1995 (at 1 year) (space for one more shot)

CyberNews article: THE NEW PHONICS methodology and its history by
Tracy Sherwood
The New Phonics
The Story Behind It
Phonics isn't new; it's how our country learned to read when it was
young - until the late 40s and early 50s when psychiatry got it taken
out of our schools and established the new Teacher's College. That's
when our national SAT scores started it's plummet...
