active babies and breastfeeding by
Sara
Ollie's an astoundingly active baby -- he walks (runs!) all over the
place, and is generally full of beans. I know most nine-month-old
babies don't need more than breastmilk, and that solids are more for
educational and entertainment purposes. Is that true for very active
babies, as well? Since...

Adjusting for pre-term delivery by
ted
Any of you who's baby was born before due date.. do you adjust
milestones according to how sooner he/she was born? Like giving solids
later than other babies etc.. This is just one example.
Or should we follow everything just like the other full term babies.
Thanks.

Simon Lee Templar
I hope someone can answer a few basic questions.
We will be adopting an infant soon and I would like to breastfeed. I have
seen a few references that this can be done but no specific information. Can
anyone please direct me. My doctor just shakes his head and gave me a one
page flyer from La Leche...

Brookben
I have a friend who is adopting a newborn in March. She wants to
breastfeed and it will be her first breastfeeding experience.
Do any of you know anyone who has successfully breastfed an adopted
baby? Any support sites? Tips?
Thanks,
Misti

adoption/surrogacy situation, bf after hysterectomy? by
dkhedmo
I have a very dear friend who had cancer a number of years ago, passed
the 5-years clear mark a few years ago. However, she was experiencing
some pain recently and after examination it seems there is still scar
tissue forming in her uterus and the doctors are recommending
hysterectomy. I am...

adoptive breastfeeding by
Anne Rogers
I'm going through a process right now where I am admitting to myself that my
body isn't going to take being pregnant, or giving birth. But DH is keen
that in the future we consider adoption, so I was wondering about adoptive
breastfeeding, not suckling a newborn is one of the things I am...

Advice for a week away from baby by
stasya
I am thinking about taking a short intense cooking class that would be
5 days long, 14 hours a day, at the end of July. My baby will be 7
months old, so I presume from my previous babies that she'll be on some
solid food but still mostly nursing. At the moment, I am a sahm, and
the baby doesn't...

advice for friend. 9 month old lost some weight, not interested ineating. by
Mary Ann Tuli
Hello,
My friend has a nearly 9 month old girl. She was exclusively BF for
nearly 6 months and since then has been introduced to solids.
She has always been on quite a low percentile, but in the last month has
lost some weight and has also been less interested in eating. She's only
lost a few...

I will be delivering my second baby in 2-3 weeks. I experience

Advice on food and handling it... by

Alright, DD is just about 6 months old now. She's currently on baby food
(she's had stuff like peas, carrots, green beans, squash, wax beans,
applesauce, bananas, etc) I give her some pablum in the morning - sometimes
with a bit of bananas or whatever mixed in, but not always, some veggies...

Hi everyone. I am due with my first baby on December 16th and I have been
reading this newsgroup for the last couple months.
I will only have 6 weeks of leave, but I would like the baby to exclusively
have breastmilk. I work as a RN and I work 12 hour shifts, 7pm-7am. I usually
do three shifts...

Advice on using nipple shields by
Nigel Reed
To start off, my wife is a lurker here and a regular on m.k.p.
We had our little boy on Wednesday morning 22nd August at 3:25am.
Right away, we started breastfeeding and the baby was taking in the
colostrum. We were concerned, however, because he likes to suck on his
lower lip and my wifes...

Jessica's now 11 weeks old. She's breastfeeding lke a champ and is now
