On a more positive note - what should newborn sleep in? by
oregonchick
I want to have the baby sleeping very close so breastfeeding is easier. We
already have a crib, but have been looking into bedside sleeping options.
Things we've considered are the Graco Pack n' Play w/bassinett, a regular
bassinett, moses basket, etc.
What works best, easiest?

struggling to eat right by
oregonchick
Ok, I'll admit it. My last pregnancy I gained 65 lbs. I lost it all but it
took a looooong time... This time around I had all sorts of resolve to eat
great, and only gain the magic 25-35 lbs. But as soon as the morning
sickness hit, I ate whatever I felt like, and even when the nausea...

headaches by
oregonchick
I have had a headache for 2 days straight now. It really sucks to wake up
with one. Is this normal? I can't think of what I could do to make it go
away. I drink plenty of water and get enough sleep, eat well, etc. Tylenol
doesn't seem to help. It's just a low grade headache, but is starting...

think I'm becoming a vegetarian by
oregonchick
I was a true meat eater before I got pregnant. Then the morning sickness
set in and I had a terrible aversion to all meat. Even now that the
sickness has passed, most meat is revolting to me. I am so picky now! I
tried buying burger but when I got it home, even thought it was super lean,
it had...

I'm 4 months along now, and some of the changes have been astounding. I
just don't remember it being like this the first time! I have gone from a B
cup to a Very full D. I'm already leaking a bit too. Lately I've been
experiencing Braxton Hicks type contractions several times a day as...

alpha fetoprotein test - is this a crucial test? by
oregonchick
My ob casually asked me as I was preparing to leave my last appt if I wanted
to have this test done. I had never heard of it before, and I asked her to
explain. She mentioned it was to find out if the baby was at risk of spinal
cord problems, but didn't really elaborate. She seemed busy and...

Dear Forum Members,
Most people in the alternative healthcare field have heard of
radionics, yet few understand what that discipline is actually about.
When we discover the truth behind this fascinating subject, it quickly
appears to be much more than we originally imagined.
Radionics is a method...

Jaundice after 3 weeks by

Hi, has anyone experienced the baby with jaundice after 3 weeks of life? My little Rachael was born 3 weeks ago and still looks jaundiced (with total bilirubin 278 and direct one 11). Our pedestrian has ruled out all severe problems that might be the cause and told us not to worry too much about...

Non-fasting GD screen test level? by
P B
Hi,
I am at 24th week of my pregnancy and my GD screening test(1 hour,
non-fasting) came as 140. I was told to go for a 3-hour glucose
tolerance test. What's the normal level for the 1 hr GD screen test?
Has anyone else been diagnosed with GD later with such a level in the

symptoms disappeared after/around implantation by
P B
Hi,
We are on TTC#1 and I was having the usual symptoms after ovulation,
e.g, lot of body ache, breast soreness, feeling feverish(but no fever)
and cramping(after ovulation and around implantation). This continued
till CD24 when I felt a strong cramp for a couple of hours. On
CD25-CD26, all the...

Morning sickness medication questions by
P B
I am 13 weeks pregnant and have been going through really bad "whole
day sickness" from week 5.5 and on. As I wasn't able to keep anything
down, the doctor prescribed me first phenergan and then
zorphan(because Phenergan made me sleepy all day long which is a
problem at work). I have been taking...

Hi,
I am at my 28 weeks and do not feel much baby movements. Only
occassional kicks, very soft. I have been diagnosed to have
gestational disbetes and under special diet, walking etc(so far it is
under control). I noticed that the movement has gone down once I
started the controlled diet and...

obscure but possibly useful morning sickness idea by

I am not attaching this to any existing thread because (still throwing

you mention morning sickness and Helpful People chirp up with alleged
cures and make it seem like only a lazy idiot would still be suffering
:-) But then...

amount of ginger for morning sickness? by
P Harris
Hello all. Quick question for the well-read out the
I find that eating candied (=crystallized) ginger is *wonderful* for
relieving this horrible 24-hr-a-day queasiness and bloating, but I am
not of the camp that believes "if it's natural it can't possibly harm
you", so I worry about how much...

this had better NOT be preterm labor (sorry, longish) by

If anyone has any advice or reassurance, it'd be appreciated.
I am currently 30w 6d with what'll be my first child, no problems til
now (other than boy oh boy is this ever an active baby! :-P), no risk
factors for preterm labor except for my age (I turned 39 yesterday)
and *possibly* having or...
