NB clothing question by
Jill
I have a ton of 3-6 months sized clothing and onesies and a good supply of
sizes larger than that, too. People were great about not giving us the tiny
size clothing and I was afraid to buy much of it myself as well since I
don't want to be wasteful.
I noticed while going through it that I only...

Nappy/diaper bag? by
Maggie
Wondering if anyone had recommendations for a nappy/diaper bag, as I've
been given a voucher and thought I'd get a fancier new bag, rather than
something plainer or second-hand. Any handy features that you think are
necessary? And likewise, any features which are generally pretty
useless? The...

Baby too small? by
Cam & Shane
I have just had an appointment with my midwife. Last fortnight she said I
had to rest with my feet up for 1 hour per day as the baby was small.
He still hasn't grown much so she has scheduled me for another ultrasound.
The appointment isn't for another 2 weeks.
I'm scared this is IUGR. I am...

Need serious advice by
Taulmaril
I gave birth to my first son on the 11th of March after 31 hours of
all natural labor. He weighed 8lbs 1 oz. I began breastfeeding right
away and he latched on perfectly. At about 4 days old DS started to
get really fussy. I believed he was not getting enough to eat and
didn't think that I had any...

that their health care system -- or lack thereof -- drove

it has on staff. These are the midwives who attended my VBAC attempt.
They provided excellent care. What a loss for DC-area...

sciatica (I think) by
A&G&K
Yowie!
I keep getting this shooting pain in my right buttock and leg ... like a
nerve has been caught between my hip bone and pelvis. Is this sciatica?
I'm fine sitting or lying or even standing, but sometimes when I walk it
just about drops me to the floor.
I don't see my chiropractor for over a...

The tenth month! Postpartum is definitely a part of pregnancy, so here
you go:
All our new moms, if you're still reading here and haven't migrated over
to misc.kids.breastfeeding or misc.kids yet, how are you doing? Lochia
tapering off, or telling you to take it a little easier? Are you

Pelvic Floor Exercises by
Cherie
I have seen post about people doing pelvic floor exercise and pelvic rocks.
What exactly are these? I just always assumed they were kegels but now I am
thinking they are not. What is the benefit of them and how exactly do I do
them?

Pain like a shark bite by
melbgal1
Heh - not that i've ever been bitten by a shark, but i've seen enough
doco's to how they attack, and that's exactly what my baby was doing to
my body after dinner last night.
I've had some more pain today ( all in front, none in my lower back ),
but it's really very manageable. It makes me wonder...

recent m/c: how are you? by
Ilse Witch
After all Mary's threads on monthly updates, I didn't see any place where
I could put my update. I'm not TTC, not pregnant, but had two m/c's in the
last five months. I still find it hard to not be pregnant and
systematically skip any pregnancy announcement here. Not that I am not
happy for the...

Downs Syndrome Ultrasound? by
CY
My SIL is 12 weeks pregnant and went for an ultrasound today. Apparently
there is some new test that can check for Downs Syndrome at 12 weeks by U/S.
I have never heard of such a thing and suspect her doctor is doing this U/S
unnecessarily. Anyone else know anything about this????

Stretch Marks in 2nd pregnancies by
Cherie
With pregnancy #1 I was very fortunate not to get a single stretch mark. I
was very diligent about using Dr. Palmers lotion every morning and night.
Should I be concerned about getting stretch marks this time around? I would
think it is a possibility but unlikely since my skin has already...

We're nearly there. by

Unless the baby opts to pop early, we're going in on Friday for the
C-section. Thank goodness, it sounds like everything is going to work
out. I've got childcare arranged for the weekend -- a friend is going
to help out my DH. DH is going to be there the first day, for the
delivery, and then I'm...

Is this apnea by
Jill
Hi all
I wonder if you can help me.
my 4.5 month old son snores when he sleeps, not too often but he does.
At night just before the deep sleep, he will gasp for air. He breathes,
then it seems as if his throat closes, then he realizes, wakes up and then
makes a whooping sound and then then...
