car seats by
nfisherman
Does anyone have any suggestions for car seats. We have a
two-year-old and we're expecting twins soon. We drive a Subaru
Outback wagon. We'd like to put the toddler seat and two infant seats
in the back seat, but we don't know which seats might fit in this
arrangement. We'd prefer to find small...

Moving on, growing up by
Ann Porter
My older son, for many years my "baby," will be heading off to college in
the fall. I've not really had this experience before; his sister's "leaving
home" was much more dramatic, and less positive. While he's going away,
he's not going far; just to the Big State University about 80 miles...

Pregestamil / Neocate dependant 3yo by
Rich
Does anyone here have a kid (over 2 or 3 years old) who is dependant upon
the yucky smelling/testing Pregestamil or Neocate Jr?
By dependant I mean that if my son does not drink about 700cc of it each
day, he will not survive (grow). He has special needs because of GI
problems. We've tried all...

workable routines by
Karen G
We eat dinner at 6 and bedtime is at 7:30 for our 4 and 5 year old. The
5 year old will start school in September. Any ideas or experience with
evening routines that allow time for cleaning up toys that doesn't end
in a round of whines and frustration?

I'm a journalist looking for anecdotes from people who've had trouble
putting together things like strollers and cribs because the
instructions are poorly written or because the item is more
complicated to assemble than they had thought.
If you have a story to share, please post or email me in...

Writer needs to interview parents about children in emotional state. by
Jeff Heisler
Hello,
I'm a writer preparing an article on how to talk to your child when
they are in an emotional state, such as during a bad argument or any
other emotional crisis. The article will be mainly focused on
children between 8-13, but anything close is fine.
If you are a parent who has difficulty...

6 yr old boy touching self by
S.S.
My 6.5 year old son has developed a habit of touching his penis area
through his pants or PJs. We've tried to explain to him that its not
polite behaviour and should be done in private. I'm concerned that he
is having a hard time breaking this habit and will be ridiculed at
school and in any case...

Parent suspectschild may have taken something without permission... by
Kompu Kid
Hello:
My colleague at the office is really upset these days. She thinks that
her 9-year-old boy may have taken something from her neighbor's
without permission.
She has found the item on their side of the yard. In other words she
has not found the item in his possession, so she is not sure if...

Older Son is packing up in preparation for his move to Big State U. We'll
be moving him into his apartment on Saturday.
I am not a sentimental sort. But this is way harder than I expected.
I'm sure he will be fine. He's a good guy, with a good head on his
shoulders, and a real desire to...

One reason to Love the Olympics by
Scott
DS absolutely is enthralled by the olympics. I love it -- when he asks
if he can watch, I can ask "Is your room clean?" No whining, nothing
like that, he just cleans his room. I guess I'll enjoy it while it
lasts. :)
