Night nursing a 5 month old by
All4meUC
My son is 5 months old. He weighs 20 lbs and obviously eats well during the
day.
My question is...how long can I expect him to sleep at night without needing to
nurse for nourishment. He is waking usually 3 or 4 times a night and I know
that he doesn't need to actually eat all of these times.
Bed...

I found food that Moo boy likes! by
teapot
rice cakes! organic, no gm, no additives, no nothing, they dissolve
by the time they get to his throat so he is getting used to lumps and
he can feed himself with them!
and, sweet potato, mushed up and very watery gets a sometimes open
mouth instead of the tightly pursed lips!
one day my boobs...

Thanks! The ultrasound said I am now 7 weeks, 5 days. I am "due"

between the 21st and the 28th of August. (Now watch me go two...

Feeding by
deano
Hi,
My son was born on the 11th five weeks early and weighing just 4lbs 5.5oz -
he also has a heavy dose of jaundice (potentially caused by spherocytosis -
although this is by no means confirmed).
Because of his small size and the jaundice, he and his mom are still in the
hospital. My problem is...

little house on the priarie ( bottle feeding) by
AnnaS
Hmm, I rarely watch that show, but I did see one episode where Mrs.
Ingalls was told by the doctor to switch the baby to (cows?) milk instead
of nursing. She was sad, but did it because the doctor said to.

Milk, Money, & Madness by
DeliciousTruffles
I just finished reading the book "Milk, Money, & Madness" and I wanted
to know if the bf'ing attitude has changed for the positive in the US
since the copy write date of 1995?
I was a very interesting book and a really good read. But, the book was
published after Clinton agreed to the WHO code,...

avent replacement parts by
Liz S. Reynolds
The coupler that connects my Isis to the bottle is cracked, still works if
I'm careful, but annoying. Is there anywhere that sells just the individual
part or do I have to buy another whole pump kit?
I only used the Isis occasionally the first time 'round. Now I'm working on
the back-to-work stash...

Will Cheerios increase milk prod? by
nam0827
hi.
sorry i forgot to ask this question in my earlier post. from reading here, it
is my understanding that oatmeal will increase breast milk production. since i
am not a big oatmeal fan, i am wondering if Cheerios would also work? also,
how much quantity are we talking, how many bowls per day,...

this week I've had to dump around 24oz of ebm which had been wrongly
stored. I now have 1 bag in the freezer, which may or may not be ok and
enough for today and maybe tomorrow in the fridge. Problem is I have one
of those weekends that doesn't occur very often, I'll be away from ds and
in a...

I was afraid it would come to this... by
zeldabee
Yesterday, I got a call from daycare at about 4:00 saying that they'd run
out of milk for (4-month-old) Sprogly. I'd sent 20oz, which was more than he
was eating each day last week. He's gone from 12-14oz/day pretty
consistently to about 16-18oz/day last week, and now this. I generally can
pump...

When does your toddler sleep? by
Sara
We've recently had more luck getting our 15 month old to sleep at
night, but we're still working out the kinks. One problem is that he
wants to stay up late at night -- he falls asleep at 10 pm at the
earliest, and that's after a struggle. He wakes up for the day between
6 and 7 am, and takes one...

3 months - update by
Elly
(Crossposted to misc.kids.pregnancy)
Erin was 3 months old on Jan 12th, so I guess it's time for an update.
We had several reasons to celebrate - apart from the 3-months-anniversary,
the day before was the anniversary of the conception ;-). Plus, Erin's urine
culture analysis is sterile!

EBM on the go by

When my baby arrives, we're planning on DH becoming a SAHD. I'll be pumping
again, and while I have no questions on how to handle and store and heat EBM
while he's at home, I'm wondering what will happen when he has to go out. I
imagine he'll be taking my older DD to storytime and playgroups,...

5 1/2 months, crying all night, gah. by
Chotii
I'm not sure what's wrong with the kiddo. Okay, so she's got some new
skills, like rolling and reaching forward to grab things. This is exciting,
and she doesn't want to eat all day. But what's up with night time? I'd
understand if she nursed all night, but last night she cried and cried
without...

Geez! I can be slow, sometimes! by

The question just occurred to me:
What does an OB/Gyn know about infant feeding anyway? Why would a woman
take infant feeding advice from this type of doctor?

Got to the hossy, waited 2 hours, doc takes one look and tells me he is fine

brains that are developing!?
I haven't seen it before in a developing baby. I was told to return if he
had another fit.
I feel better for having it...

ot/infant receded hairline by
Zucca4
my little angel has a very odd hairline- receded with large sideburns almost.
anyway, the initial hair seems to be falling out now at five weeks and a new
layer of peach fuzz is growing....will his entire hairline change do you think?
His toddler pals are referring to him as "grandpa" :)

Xander is nearing the 4mo mark and well, Im more tired now that I was

sometimes more often. Im pretty sure the night nursing is for comfort
