rheumatology appointment by
Anne Rogers
I've got my rheumatology appointment this Wednesday, there seems to be a lot
I need to think of in advance to ask about, so I'm writing it all down, can
you guys recall or think of anything that should be on the list?
Cheers
Anne

Sleeping through by
Jen
I was wondering at what age your baby slept through the night without a
feed. DS will be 5 months in a week and currently he feeds at 6pm,
10.30pm, 3-4am and then 7am through the night, The advice seems to be that
if he doesn't sleep through by 6 months (say for 6 hours 11-5am or better)
then I...

thanks! and more newbie questions... by
V.
Thanks for all the advice earlier! Makes me feel better that things seem
normal so far!
We do nurse to sleep almost exclusively, although sometimes she will nurse,
sleep for 15 min or so, then have the cute "awake" period. At the end of
that she either nurses to sleep again or falls asleep on her...

Plugged duct ? could use some reassuarance by
PK
delurking
I had my baby on Nov 30th and am B/fing. Its going well so far. Nipple
tenderness has subsided, baby has a correct latch (according to the LC
and the visiting nurse), and feeds every 1.5-2 hrs during the day and
approximately every 3 hrs during the night.
Last night I found a small hard...

When was the first time you left your baby with a sitter? by
Emily
We're taking a trip to CA soon to visit friends there.
We'll be staying with a family with two girls, ages
3.5 and 1. My kids are 3.5 and (then) 3 months old.
We four adults are planning to go into SF (about 1 hour
from the family's house) to see a Billy Crystal show
that looks great. We plan to...

zoloft/lustral/sertaline by
Anne Rogers
I have been on sertraline for over 2 years now, the brand in the uk is
"Lustral" made by Pfizer. As far as I know Zoloft is made by the same people
and just packaged differently, I once got some that had been packed for the
spanish market and they were labelled Zoloft, but the tablets were the...

6 month appointment by
Rebecca Jo
Alexander weighs 18lb 8oz, is 28 1/4" long, and has a head circumference of
18 1/4".
He sits without using anything to prop himself up, he rolls all over the
place, he giggles and babbles. We're starting him on solids, just a little
at a time. Going with mostly homemade stuff but getting meat in...

bother, stuck between a rock and a hard place by
Anne Rogers
I have a cyst, it's not big, but it's on my nipple, right at the point where
Ada's lips are when nursing, it is too small to aspirated, but it's not
infected, just stubborn. I think it has been infected and cleared up, but it
is still there and still painful, bother bother bother. The doctor has...

Christmas Gifts by
Dottie
Mostly I just lurk in this group. Lots of interesting topics.
My 22 mo is still bfing. I work full time, so she was taking either
ebm or formula until she was about 15 mos, and then we just went to bf
mostly 2 times a day and milk from a cup.
It seemed back then that she probably would have...

newbie questions by

I had my baby! Madeline Gale (Madi) was born 11/29, 6lbs14oz!
Nursing is going well so far. She seems to have read the same books I did
b/c even the difficulties have been typical and solved readily by stuff I
learned here! Sore-ish nipples still, but I think it's just reg. "breaking
in" type...

Safety of Vitamin D drops? by
[email protected]
Our pediatrician recommended giving Vitamin D drops to our newborn to
supplement breastfeeding.
Being skeptical of artifical supplementation, I researched the need for
the drops and found that it is due to the likely lack of sunlight that
our baby will receive. She is a slightly dark-skinned...

Theory on fussy DD by
Legbuh
First a background...
DD goes in spurts 3 or 4 days of being fussy... then 1 day of sleeping
through the night, and most of the next day.
DD is 7 weeks old and fed EBM.
Anyhow... when she's fussy during those days, she eats every 2 hours at
least 5 ounces... sometimes more, and more often.

Boston and NICU support? by
Ruth Shear
G'day
My best friend is a professor and a major workaholic - much more than
me. She finally got pregnant, but long after she had already moved away
from Austin to Boston, and she was inconsiderate enough not to move back
to Austin so we could be preggo together. So I've been supporting her

Not sure if 9 mo getting enough milk by
Plissken
My 9 month old is just not interested in nursing during the day any more.
About 1 week ago she was nursing around 3 times during the day and 3-4 times
at night. But now it's down to maybe once or twice during the day (and only
for 1-2 minutes at a time) and 3-4 times at night.
I'm not even sure...
