co-worker rant (prev loss ment) by
Emily
Hi folks,
This one is (somewhat surprisingly) on-topic, and I just
want to get it off my chest. The back story is too long
and boring to get into in detail, but the quick summary is:
My maternity leave is falling at a somewhat awkward time,
as a new program I am in charge of is starting up this...

I did a google search for the phrase "birth story" and limited it to
Jan 1, 2005 to the present in MKP.
I looked at around 30 stories, and this is the breakdown:

Report on One Day Childbirth Prep Class by
Amy
To recap - Amy (V., I think) and I were talking about the one-day
childbirth prep class, and I told her that I'd report on ours so that
she'd know whether or not she needed to do the longer class... We
don't live in the same area, though, so YMMV.
I must say that I've been very impressed with the...

2 yo and constipation... by
Cre8ive1
Hi. My 27 month old boy has the worst problems with constipation. He's
off cheese and only drinks 9 oz. of 2% milk in the a.m. He loves pasta
and bread, bananas and other constipating foods. He will eat some fruit
when he feels like it like strawberries and apples. When he does eat
fruit, he's...

struggling to eat right by
oregonchick
Ok, I'll admit it. My last pregnancy I gained 65 lbs. I lost it all but it
took a looooong time... This time around I had all sorts of resolve to eat
great, and only gain the magic 25-35 lbs. But as soon as the morning
sickness hit, I ate whatever I felt like, and even when the nausea...

Caesarian Birth Plan? by
Grymma
OK, so I'm having a planned caesarian, but there must be things I need to
emphasise. All I can think of right now is 'please clean the baby up before
handing to us, we don't like slime, and hubby is pretty squeamish' and I'd
like to do skin to skin and try breastfeeding in recovery'. Oh, and...

Odd question --will be asking doc but want feedback by
Jenrose
Shiny has a discoloration on her back. I would assume it was a bruise by
appearance, but it has been there since she was 2 months old (she's over 4
months now) and hasn't changed at all in the past month at least (I don't
remember if it ever looked significantly different, but it really...

Oh, these are the people in your neighborhood... by
Amy
I just found out this week that a convicted sex offender has moved into
the rental house directly across the street from me. Without giving
too much detail, he apparently was standing in the doll aisle of a toy
store in another state with his pants undone and no underwear, thereby
exposing himself...

corset after pregnancy to pull tummy in? by
Linda
A friend of mine had extreme problems with her back and hips during her
pregnancy, and her doctor gave her a support corset/girdle thingy to wear,
which she also did for a while afterwards. Apart from the benefits to her
back etc, she said she thinks that as it held her tummy in, it trained it...

Perinatologist appt finally, post m/c update by
CJRA
Background - following my m/c & D&E, my OB recommended seeing a
specialist once she saw the products of conception lab results, which
freaked me out a bit. Thanks to all for calming me.
We finally went in today, and tho odd, nothing is really of concern.

Castor Oil?? by
xkatx
Of course I'm still waiting and waiting...
Due date was the 25th, so I'm by no means really overdue. Just extreme
discomfort and pain that has been around for a couple weeks now with my
pelvis/crotch.
I've found that there's been a few who recommended trying castor oil to try
and start labor. I...
