nursing toddler Q by
Spanannie
Zach is 14 mos and we're down to only nursing morning and night now. :-(
I feel like I'm barely lactating now, even though I know I still am, and
that it's just in my head.
My question is will my body know to still make milk for the morning and
night feeding even though it is not nursing all day...

red painful sores on nipple by
jake's mom
What could cause these--(only on one nipple)? I assume I need to keep on
feeding from that breast which is what I'm doing. I noticed a lot of pain
while feeding earlier this evening but did not think much about it because I
have pain at a certain time each month. I looked at the nipple later...

Possible dairy sensitivity? by
Lina

DS is now 15 days old and I'm suspecting that he might have a dairy
sensitivity. I first suspected it because he spits up a lot. He rarely
makes it through a nursing session without spitting up while at the
breast. We...

I had been browsing on eBay and noticed that someone had something for sale
that included an adapter for the Playtex bottles from a pump. the only way
to purchase one is in a whole kit. well, I didn't need any of that other
stuff, so I called Playtex to find out how I could purchase them without...

I went out today planning to meet up with some friends in the park,
somehow I managed not to miss them and did some shopping instead, I had
thought that I would nurse in the park, then shop, come home and be back
in time for another feed. However due to mu change plans ds started to get
hungry when...

Potential problems - another plugged duct. by
Nina
"Cathy" wrote To my question - is it possible to
manually unblock a plugged
duct? I have never been able to myself, but I have caught this one very
early - usually the breast is hard and very tender when I notice them. I
guess I know what to look out for now.
With my...

Sorry if this is really off base, but I have a stinking headache and my mind
has been working in mysterious ways! Your DD is only 20 days old, right? I
was wondering if perhaps you put an older baby with a more efficient suck to
your affected breast, if that might help clear the plugged...

Intro & Questions by

Hello--
I've posted here a couple of times in the past and have been a frequent

in September and I will be breastfeeding. I have a few questions...
This first one is a bit sensitive and I hope it doesn't offend anyone.

Nursing strike? by
Cathy
DD (7 3/4 months) is sort of on a nursing strike. She is refusing a lot of
feeds, but had a quick one just before (she must have been starving!), and
had one at night when she woke up. Kellymom.com had some great info (phew -
nice to know it is relatively common). DD will take water, and I...

Few questions about feeding solids by
Wendy J.
Hi,
Dd is 4 1/2 months and I started feeding her solids a few days ago. I
didn't plan on starting until she was 6 months old but she suddenly
started crying at the dinner table and all I could put it down to was
that she wanted some food too. She began aiming towards the food with
her hands from...

feel isolated ideas anyone? by
Shannon and Joe
I remember feeling *exactly* the same way, except I couldn't really go
anywhere because DS screamed all the time.
A mother and baby group, where everyone understands exactly what you're
going through was the perfect socialization for me. If DS screamed all I
got were sympathetic murmerings,...

3 month update, and I'm so excited about something! by
KC
Well, Jessi is 3 months 9 days old now, and I think we made it past
her 3 month growth spurt now. This one was only 3 days long and she
was on the breast more frequently, but not constantly. This was such
a breeze compared to the 6 week growth spurt which was velcro baby for
9 days. I am still...

Book recommendations required! by
Chookie
At my TAFE college, we teach both catering and child studies, and so we have a
small selection of books on feeding babies and toddlers. I was weeding in
that area, and most of these books are officially out of date: they recommend
the introduction of solids at 4-6 months. Last month, the new...

Long Island moms? by

Hi...
Just wondering if anyone on this group lives on Long Island in New York? If
so do you know of a pediatrician that is very BF supportive? I just got back
from a 2 month WBV and the DR was asking me about feeding and all. When i
said she is exclusively BF and he was saying that if you want to...

I wanted to pump after feeding and realised the pump needed washing, no
probs, I carefully balanced ds on the worksurface, holding him securely
with my left arm, but leaving my hand free, ran the water, washed all the
easy stuff, plates, glasses, cutlery etc and the...
