Boiling latex and silicone nipples by
Jody Pellerin
There's been a bit of a debate between myself and somebody in the family
over boiling and microwaving nipples. From what I was told, by boiling latex
nipples, it dries them out and they flake in the babies mouth. And I guess
microwaves do the same thing to them. I use the microwave to warm...

Completely uneventful anatomy scan by
[email protected]
Our baby is a ham. S/he covered her face with both arms, waved,
kicked, danced the can can, and bounced on my bladder the entire time.
It was hilarious. The weirdest thing was feeling him/her move and
watching him/her move at the same time.
The technician said that everything looks normal. And...

Lots of Movement ~ Umbilical Cord Choking? by
Carol Ann
Is it possible for the baby to strangle herself while moving around so much?
My girl keeps tossing and turning and I'm getting worried b/c I read that
the umbilical cord is about 20'' long by now.

Name question by
Sophie
No, I'm not giving any clues ;)
A good friend, who lives in another country, had her baby yesterday. We
will likely never see this friend again, ever. She named her baby a name
that we're seriously considering. How would you feel if, 3 months after you
have your baby, a friend used the same...

Circumcision as abuse by
nahasafeemapetelan
Todd, as a former medical assistant, I agree with you that infant
circumcision is child abuse. I've wondered if that, along with
hormonal differences, of course, is what makes boys and girls
different from each other psychologically. Maybe even sets males up
for aggressive behavior later because...

Fighting by
[email protected]
So, when you were pregnant with your first child, did you find yourself
fighting with your husband more than you ever thought possible? Does
it get better? If so, when? (and please don't say "about 10 minutes
after the divorce is final...)
Thanks,
Amy

Hearing baby's heartbeat with a stethoscope? by
Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward
I'm 24.5 weeks pregnant and at my routine checkup today I asked the
nurse if, rather than use the usual Doppler, she could listen to the
baby's heartbeat with a stethoscope. I said I had concerns after
reading of some potential as yet unproven dangers of Dopplers and would
prefer to avoid the risk...

Feeling a big anxious about induction vs. c-section by

Initially, when we were given the diagnosis of spina bifida, we were told a

antifungal spray for diaper rash? by

When Joshua got diaper rash, I put a little of that antifungal spray for
athlete's foot on my finger and touched it on his rash. It really worked. But
is it safe? Has anybody else tried this, and are there reasons not to?
