joint pain - rheumatoid arthritis or what? by
Sidheag McCormack
Since DS was born, 9 weeks ago, I have been waking up with stiff and sore
finger and wrist joints in both hands. It's very slight, but it's
definitely there, and it seems to be getting worse rather than better. Most
of the stiffness wears off quite soon, but not all, and now in the late
afternoon,...

Alena's 6 months update (With a Hale's look up request) (X-posted) by
AlenasMom
Well, the little monkey isn't so little anymore! She's 18lbs now!!! It's so
hard to believe that half a year ago she was only 5 lbs and could fit into
my forearm! Now she's taller than most of my torso! She's so long that she
wears 12 mos. clothing just because of length!!!
She's still teething but...

Breasts and pregnancy by
Julia Vereker
Hello,
I knew that breasts change a lot during pregnancy, but I'm little
worried about mine. It's about my areolas. My breasts have began
increasing about 16th week and I think their increase is typical. But
my areolas growths beyond my expectations. I've checked and they are
almost 4" in diameter...

(Least) common allergens via breastmilk? by
Sidheag McCormack
Can anyone point me at a long list of the foods which when eaten by a
breastfeeding mother are most likely to cause gassiness/fussiness in the
baby, and ideally also a long list of foods which are very unlikely to be
the cause? I know about the absolutely most common ones, but the issue is
what the...

Fontanel as Hydration Indicator? by
Zucca4
I've read or heard in various places that a sunken fontanel signifies
de-hydration. Of course my husband and I lightly touch our darling son's
fonatnel throughout the day and of course it feels slightly recessed at times
and level with the rest of the skull plates at others.
Over the last four...

Atopic Dermatitis & BF'ing. Cites/Sites needed by
CY
I just went to see a dermatologist with my DD who was diagnosed with
eczema/atopic dermatitis.
At the appointment I mentioned that I was glad I had bf'd my daughter as I
can't imagine how much worse it would have been had it not been for the
bf'ing (it's quite a mild case).
She then went on to...

Do they use organic milk making formulas? by
dodo
Hi,
Anybody happens to know if those regular formulas out there for infants and
toddlers (Similac, Efimil, ...) are made of organic cow milk or not? In
other words, do those milk-based formulas use regular milk that coming from
cows eating antibiotics and BGH or not?
I would think at least those...

Desperate...What am I doing Wrong? (Gas....) by
Zucca4
I have been exclusively breastfeeding for the last week now and am very proud
of myself and my sweet six week old DS. The latch is great, the frequency
excellent, and my milk supply really seems to have improved thanks to the
nursing to sleep system we've worked on with your advice and...

I'm so tempted... by
zeldabee
At the ad agency I work for, we periodically get emails from various
marketing teams asking to pick people's brains if, say, they'd traveled on a
particular airline, or play video games, etc. I just got one asking for
input from new or expectant mothers for an Enfamil campaign. I'm...

Extras? by
Jinxie
Hi,
Not real sure where to post this so i'm posting it to the two places
I lurk. :o)
Joseph is now two months old & growing fast. I'm finding myself with
a LOT of extra diapers from sizes he keeps growing out of. He went
from newborn to a 1 & now he's in a 1-2. We now find that we need to
up...

Made it by
Mogget
Frogmella is one today, so I suppose we're now into "extended
breastfeding".
I'm glad I stuck with it. It was hellish tough to begin with but in the
long run breastfeeding has made my life SO much easier.

Another one year post! (and NIP too!) by
Cathy
Well, we have made it. After initial problems of poor latch (requiring 3
extra days in hospital), and goodness knows how many episodes of mastitis
and blocked ducts, DD and I have made it to one year. Still going 3
(sometimes 4) times a day.
And I have finally really and truly NIP'ed. Until...

Prozac and extended bf'ing? by
[email protected]
I've read Hale's site about prozac, and did a google in here...but
nothing is posted about older babies (+18 mos) and effects of prozac.
Anyone?
I really need to take this, and I have it in hand. But I want to wait
until I get an okay in here. I trust you all too much :-).

OT, but you gotta love these (puppy) toys... by

No, no, I'm serious. Somebody ought to make toys like these for kids. I
bought the 'interacting' ring with tags on it. Some of the tags crinkle. The
tags are mouthable and grabbable, and the ring is just the right...

Pumping at work: washing the pump? by
Jose
I have a question that is probably a bit silly:
I have just started back at work and I will be pumping/expressing for my six
and a half month old daughter. So far I have just been back a half day (4
hours) and just pumped once and that worked fine. But on the day after tomorrow
(Wed.) I will have...

Gosh thank you all so much for reaching out to me - it touched my heart and

met. I haven't fallen over the edge but I did take on board many of your
wise words.
I've got my head straightened out a little and my attitude is...

combifeeding question and supply by
Stephanie and Tim
Since I have gone back to work, we have been combi feeding. I pump during
the day as best I can and consider it "gravy." My question is if my DD is
nursing in the morning and the evening and the middle of the night feeding
and not during the day, is a Mamm body "smart" enough to have a sort...
