3 month update and venting included (long) by
Karlee in Kansas
Howdy all!! I *think* that I survived "dead bird day" relatively
unscathed....I say relatively because that is part of my vent....
DD and I are still going strong on BF. Still no bottles of any kind, NIP
whenever and wherever she decides she is hungry. I haven't been asked to
go to the loo to...

Breastfeeding in hospital by
Nina
Well, the baby is sick and in the hospital. Since she is totally breastfed
this has been a little inconvenient. I have 2 other kids,s o when I go to
the hospital they have had to go with me so I cant just stay all day.
I did manage to leave and come home and 2 times she was just waking up...

Prozac ?s by
Leslie
My sister is pretty sure that she has PMDD (premenstrual dystrophic disorder,
IIRC). The "new" drug for this is Sarafem, which is nothing more than Prozac
under another name.
I checked around a bit and I see that Prozac is not generally recommended for
nursing mothers. But she has tried Paxil...

one year by
Sharon
I made it! Ruby turned one on Thanksgiving and though I am no longer
pumping at work, we are nursing twice a day on weekdays and much more than
that on weekends. And she does get up at night for the odd snort here and
there. Can't believe it's already been a year! But I am damned glad not...

Caterpillar's first solids by
Phoebe & Allyson
Along the same line as Kate's Bug and the index card.
Caterpillar usually "reads" the newspaper with me, so I gave
her a piece of junk mail (a heavy weight oversize postcard)
this afternoon while I read the good stuff. A few minutes
later, I realized that she wasn't tearing it up so much...

Now I have Caterpillar's cold by
Phoebe & Allyson
Bleah. I got through an entire pregnancy without being
sick, and am all out of practice. Vaporizer and hot water
with honey and lemon and ibuprofen and DM cough syrup and
cough drops are not cutting it. I'm dying for a dose of
Sudafed, but I really don't want to risk a supply dip...

I'm glad to hear you are doing so well! I've been a bit down myself,

and all the stress at work. All in all I have lost well over a month
at work,...

6 month old growth spurt? by
jake's mom
Haven't posted in a while---back at work and extremely busy. My DS--just
turned 6 months on the 23rd--has recently begun waking in the night. He has
eaten probably 5 times overnight for the past week and a half(unlike his
usual 1-2 feeds overnight). I am exhausted and am praying this is a...

You Never Know by
New York Jen
We've had a saga going on for AGES now selling our condo in order to buy a
house and we've had 3 deals actually go to contract and end up falling
through for one reason or another. DH and I had pretty much decided to stay
put now for at least another year because I don't want to move when I'm...

Pumping questions by
Ellie
Hello everybody
I am currently nursing my 7 week old twins (4 1/2 week prem) and need to
start thinking about expressing because I'll be going back to work at the
beginning of next year. I have an Ameda Lactaline electric pump (I had no
experience with pumps at all, got this one because I saw it...

Oh, we're not sleeping either by
Phoebe & Allyson
Actually, Caterpillar is sleeping fine. But in addition to
her two "root whimper nurse (all while asleep)" sessions,
she's had 3 or 4 crying thrashing fits every night for the
last few days. She doesn't wake up unless I wake her, and
the quick latch-on doesn't prevent thrashing or crying. ...

Bug's first mush by
Akuvikate
Well, Bug had her first goop yesterday over at Babu and Grampa's house
for Thanksgiving. She's now made of both mommy and Lundberg family
farms rice. We gave her rice cereal and EBM out of my baby bowl. The
expression on her face with the first bite was priceless -- "What the
HELL?!?!?". But...

We're back (X-posted) by
AlenasMom
Alena just spent a week in hospital because she stopped breathing. She kept
stopping in the night while she slept and now she's having seizures and her
heart's throwing PVCs. We're both tired and nervous, but glad to be home.
Oh yeah. We also found out that her iron levels are really low and she's...
