Bottle-feeding as a tool to reinforce breastfeeding: by
Chotii
Published in the Journal of Human Lactation:
http://www.ilca.org/pubs/jhl/j18h1l10.pdf
Using these methods, perhaps we need not worry *quite* so much about
bottle/nipple preference having a devastating effect on breastfeeding.

Weaning dilemma by
CY
Normally my posts are OT so I am excited to be posting something on topic
for a change!
MY DH has suddenly decided that he wants to be more involved with the every
day duties of caring for our (21 mth old) DD, to include diaper changing,
putting to sleep and bathing. It has been a bone of...

out of control night-nursing (cosleeping problem) by
Sara
Yet another "I need sleep" post...
Ollie woke me up to nurse eight or nine times last night, and this
wasn't unusual. He usually doesn't nurse for a long time, and we
cosleep so I don't have to go far to find him, but I'm tired. Really,
really tired. A year's worth of sleep-deprivation...

my baby can climb stairs !!!!! by
ted
I'm just ecstatic! DD who's a week shy of 9 months old climbed the
staircase in our house all by herself. We placed a tigger on the top
of the stairs. One of us sat at the top of the stairs and one of us
was right behind her to catch her in case she slips. She just climbed
the stairs.
you should...

What I eat can make DS cranky by
K-K ~Glass Boobs~
What are some common things that make breast fed babies cranky, the past two
nights DS has been periodically screaming for no reason, and no amount of
consolation will ease him.
I've got a sneaky suspicion its milk, if so is it safe to take calcium
supplements?

advice for friend. 9 month old lost some weight, not interested ineating. by
Mary Ann Tuli
Hello,
My friend has a nearly 9 month old girl. She was exclusively BF for
nearly 6 months and since then has been introduced to solids.
She has always been on quite a low percentile, but in the last month has
lost some weight and has also been less interested in eating. She's only
lost a few...

vent: Friend not going to "bother" by
Herself
My friend, let's call her Linda, is 7 months preggers. She didn't
really bf her first (now 3), and has just told me that she's not going
to "bother" cause it's too much trouble and she can just chuck the
bottles in the dishwasher anyway. And her hubby can therefore feed
baby. She's not going to...

first year milestone - thank you! by
Ducky Lawyer
A former regular just dropping by - to say "Thank you!!!" to MKBers for
all your collective and individual help. Today, my twins turned one,
and tomorrow at 9am precisely, we will 'celebrate' one complete year of
nursing. (I was very ill after the delivery, hence the delay.)
It's quite a...

top teeth by
Cary Hayes
Hello all!
I quickly broke DD of her biting when her two bottom teeth came in and I
hoped that we were over biting for good. However, she is now 9 months and
getting her two top teeth (is it odd that she gets her teeth in twos?), they
are both about half way in, and she is starting to dig in with...

4 months: enter.....the exersaucer by
Chotii
Okay, this kid can't actually sit up by herself. She has to be wedged
upright into the seat with a rolled up towel, so she doesn't flop from side
to side. But she's no longer happy on my lap in any position (unless she's
nursing, and that doesn't take very long). She doesn't want to be on...

rant by
Anne Rogers
just went to see the consultant who is treating my PPD, it's not a nice
experience, 4 of them, 2 of us, the consultant, his house officer, a
psychiatric nurse and the ward sister, it was going fine and towards the
end the consultant asked us how Nathanael was, we talked about him and
mentioned that...

Hale's lookup, please by
DGoree
I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this but thought I would get a second
opinion.
I have to get a colonoscopy two weeks from now. The gastro's office mailed me
prescriptions: NuLytely and Reglan (I suppose so I don't barf from the 4
litres of NuLytely that I have to drink in a span of several...

Need lots of advice on nursing problems and eliminating supplementation by
jjmoreta
When my son Ian was born 3.5 weeks ago, he suffered from pathologic jaundice
due to blood group incompatibility. He wasn't doing very well and my milk
was coming in slowly, so my doctor decided to push fluids through him at the
time, using only a finger feeder so as to monitor his food intake...
