Lejla/Lyla
Thank you dear MK mums for ideas on the cake decoration and B-day party.
The cake came out great in the end (www.babiesonline.com/babies/i/istra) and
the party was a hit with all the Teletubby decorations.

6 week old question - really unimportant though by
Stephanie and Tim
Is it normal for a 6 week old to say things like "GAH" and "COOH" and
splurty noises? It is SO DARNED CUTE. My MIL thinks she is ABSOLUTELY
BRILLIANT. Of course, I know she is brilliant, but the ability to say GAH is
not the reason. She really is an engaging little thing. She loves to look at
me...

seeking parents opinions on summer camp web sites by
rob
Hello
I'm looking for opinions on summer camp websites, especially from the
parents point of view, to help me design a new site I'm starting (a
summer camp review site to help parents and campers choose a camp).
If you have a few minutes to spare, I'd appreciate if you could fill out
my survey (8...

Daycare with just one staffer? by
[email protected]
Hi,
I realize there are certain advantages of sending your child to a
daycare run by just one person, but I'm curious to know about the
disadvantages. For example, what happens if the provider is sick? And
what happens if she starts taking in new kids of different ages. Does
your child get...

Q for the Dharma fans by
P. Tierney
I've got he catalogue, and I have some books that I'm trying to
get through that are less wordy. ;-) Anyway, I'm a newbie to
the Dharma Trading Company (refered to by several posters
here), and I'm wonder, what does one *really* need to get started
dyeing? There are multiple kits, books, and...

Peanut introduction by

Due to family history of allergies I was waiting until Julie turned 3
before introducing peanuts, however, yesterday at a Halloween party she
scarfed down several peanut-butter Ritz Bitz crackers before I
realized/could stop her. So, now that she's eaten peanut, should I
continue to offer it to...

Changing table for how long? (xposted) by
ted
How long do you use changing table for? My dd is eight months old and
is quite mobile. I find it increasingly hard to change her on the
changing table. I wonder if it's time to shift to floor instead.
Thanks.

[OT] Legal definition of "sworn juror" by
Circe
Just got a summons for jury duty starting in early December. I don't
particularly mind serving, but it'll be early days for my new nanny at that
point and I'd rather not have to leave her alone all day with the kids at
that point. I can request a postponement, but I'm thinking I may be exempt
from...

Montessori results for older kids by

I would like to know if anyone has had any experiences with any of the
Montessori schools in the Ottawa area. I have heard they are good for
younger children, but am wondering if any one has experience with older
children going through the program. Two of the Ottawa schools go up to grade
8. We...

My son is 7 years old and very smart.
After kindergarten we realized that he was way about other kids and

he was already doing division.
So we took him out and put hime in french immersion school.
Grade one was tough as he was...
