I would like an opinion on something. Recently, my 24 y/o cousin told me something I found kind of disturbing. She said that she's been depressed since she was was 14-15 y/o and that when she was 15 she seriously contemplated suicide. She told her teacher about this and the teacher told the...

Teachers who assign homework/research project during spring break by stonej
Don't like it at all. It is called "break" for a reason. Give the kids some time to kick back and do their own thing. What if a family was planning a trip somewhere but the kid has some school project assigned? I would feel like telling the teacher where to go. :)

Miss Manners on "Baby Think it Over" school assignments by [email protected]
You'll love this one. I'm guessing that the school didn't say anything about not disturbing other people with the doll's crying, and the girl's mother somehow thought that since it's not a real baby the crying is not a real disturbance. Lenona. Fake baby a genuine annoyance

My 3 year old is jealous of my computer by [email protected]
I am a 'work at home' mom with a 3 year old who is showing signs of acting out because I work at home. He goes to pre-school three days a week but the hours he is there is not enough for me to get all my work done. In addition, his father has hours away from home so when he is home it is all play...

Betsy Hart on why moral kids are better than "successful" kids by [email protected]
Some of this may nauseate you, but keep in mind that it IS part of a church talk, as you'll see at the bottom. Besides, if you read her book "It Takes a Parent," or her blog, you'll see she really does care about making sure her children grow up to treat their peers and elders respectfully. Not...
