irratic/high heartrate by
Anne Rogers
I went for my assessment at the gym today, the first since I got pregnant,
it all went well as I'd made an improvement in all areas which was nice. The
only problem was that when I put the heart rate monitor on it was reading
around 120 when I was resting. Then I started the step test where I had...

Not gettinge excited anymore by
Zaz
OK. So I have all these symptoms, but nothing is ever happening *for real*.
I mean, I have contractions - some excruciatingly painful and long lasting
now - but they never get regular. Last night I had them every 5 minutes for
a good half hour, and I went to bed and everything stopped. They...

abdominal straining question by
Tara
On Saturday, I had a strange feeling in what felt like my upper
abdominal muscles -- at the very top of my belly. It felt like I was
trying to do a sit up but could not. I felt like the muscles would
strain for a few seconds and then rest. It did not feel like a
period cramp. Is this what a...

communicating with partner about having children by
Abi
Hi,
I just wanted to know from other ladies who have had kids - how did
you discuss when and whether to have children with your partner? Was
it you who came up with the idea first and then led the way into ttc
so to speak - or did your dh come up with the idea first? Was your dh
generally into the...

Back from the weekend by
Jenrose
Spent this weekend at a science fiction convention--dh got us a room very
close to the activities, and we borrowed a car with automatic transmission,
power everything and cruise, so it wasn't too bad to drive up there or
getting around. Good news: No noticeable cramping--I nabbed two chairs...

Steam cleaner chemicals by
ChitaShines
Is it safe for infants to crawl around on a floor that's been steam cleaned
with basic cleaner that's sold in the store? Didn't John Travolta's kid end
up with Kawasaki Syndrome because of the chemicals in the cleaner or was all
that a myth?

40 weeks and three days . . . by
Leslie
So I saw my OB today. As I expected, he began induction talk and currently I
am scheduled to be induced next Wednesday. I cannot for a moment believe that
I won't have the baby before then, but if it comes to that we will just have to
see whether I decide to go along with it or not.
Doctor...

Contractions questions... by
emilymr
... for all you experienced mamas.
How can you tell if it's a 'real' contraction or if it's another BH? Do
all the real ones hurt? And can you feel the baby kick through a real
one? Or is the answer to all of the above: 'no woman/contraction is the
same'?? :)

Dodge Caravan LATCH question by
Jcolangelo11
Hi All -
Anyone here know about the 2002 Dodge Caravan? Wifey and I bought one used and
the third row seat doesn't have any LATCH hooks on it. Does anyone know if
this is an option or even available at all for this particular model?
Thanks,
JC

Info from Australian Homebirth Conference (long but worth a read!) by
Jo
Hey all.
Yesterday I went to the 23rd Annual Australian Homebirth Conference, and
it was so inspiring and informative. I am so having a home waterbirth!
The first speaker was Dr. Sarah Buckley, on "Reclaiming Normal
Childbirth - Why?". I jotted down some stats and info that I thought
would be of...

Blame it on the placenta, but I can't remember you name at this very second!
Anyway, I remembered that you posted on MK about wanting leg warmers (okay,
at least I hope I remembered that correctly) Anyway, I noticed today that
Gymboree has some again that are pretty cute. I didn't go into the...

They are so comfortable and get even softer with each washing . They can
also be used under baby's chin to catch small dribbles and as coasters :)

Is this normal? by
Vijay
Hi.
I am 6-8 weeks pg and am very weepy and have a very short fuse with
DD. I keep accusing her of deliberately trying to drive me stark
raving mad, which seems to be giving her credit for being more
diabolical and calculating than a 17 month old has any right to be,
lol.
I remember being...

ModernMiko
Well it was good and somewhat worrying. BP is good. I've started developing
a bit of pitting edema on my legs (but not feet or hands) by late afternoon
over the last few days. Weight is same as last week (down about 2 pounds
from pre-conception overall). She did a u/s and stinker is breech. Of...

BPP and update by
Leslie
I just got back from my BPP. Everything looks good. Baby has plenty of fluid
around her, etc., and she is measuing at 12 lbs.!
I gained 4 pounds this week--water, obviously. There was a trace of protein in
my urine. My BP was 156/92 but went down to 124/60 when I was resting on my
left...
