Liquids other than breastmilk by
Alison
Touched on in my vent post - orange juice.
I'm sure that I've read somewhere that citrus juices should be avoided. Can
anyone confirm or deny? I'm sure also that our dentist recommends only
water or milk up to the age of 5 (that'll be fun!!) but I need to double
check that cos I read the...

nursing at night by
Lori
My baby will be 4 weeks on Sunday. She is a good little nurser except for
the past few nights.
She is very frantic about trying to latch on and kicks her legs and hits me
with her arms. She is not getting a good latch and then cries and cries.
Its almost like she gets too much saliva on my nipple...

biting - what do you do? by
teapot
well the Moo has 2 little white teeth poking through his bottom gum,
they are not all out yet but its imminent!
I thought it would be wise to ask for tips in case he turns out to be
a biter. He's been doing this pull off thing for the last week or so
and he gets 3 chances to settle before the boob...

Preggers?! by
jake's mom
Could it be? DS is 7 1/2 months--AF returned at around 6 months. Still no
AF this month--31 days into cycle. I used to have a 28-31 day cycle.
Anybody have irregular periods when nursing? PMS started 2 Mondays ago and
still no AF! Could it be???
DS still nurses through the night and, of...

new baby coming -books for preschooler? by
Karen
With new baby due end of April, I'd like to find some books for my 3 1/2
yo to prepare him a bit for the arrival and life with baby. He is at the
moment particularly unwilling to accept the idea that baby will be
nursing (he still nurses 1-2x/day). MIL gave ds a book for x-mas, but I
returned it as...

NIP problems by
Dagny
Meg is almost 3 months now. Lately when I have been in public or around
company at home she has given me all sorts of trouble feeding her. She
won't just latch on and eat, she has to complain about it a lot, latch on,
latch off, get distracted, work herself into a fit ... only nurse on...

Delaying solids and peer pressure by
[email protected]
Well, DS is now almost 5 months old (will be on 1/11) and I'm getting lots
of peer pressure about feeding him solids. His teacher at day care wrote
on the top of his daily sheet "Is he eating cereal yet? He seemed to be
interested when the other kids were eating?" Well, of course he...

Nursing Bra Question by
TVanz
Can anyone, who is well endowed 38DD+, please tell me what brand of Nursing
Bra you use and find most comfy with lots of support? I don't really want
the uniboob you get from sports bra types and I'd like something that won't
make me look like an old hag.
Thanks a bunch!!!

parental interest in solids by
Dagny
As the mother of a two and a half month old, I can't yet imagine wanting to
give her food until she insists upon it (unless there was a health need).
My typical response to "When will she start eating food?" is "When she can
pry it from my clenched fist, or sneak it like the dogs." I will be...

encouragement needed, please: sleeping (vent=ish) by
Sara
We're trying the "No-Cry Sleep Solution" methods of trying to get
Ollie (14 mos.) to sleep more than two hours at a time. We've been
doing it since January 1: earlier bedtime, routine, stopping nursing
before he's actually asleep, and moving him to his crib (a Pack & Play
next to the bed) when he's...

birth control and bfing by
Susan
Hi all,
I'm delurking to ask a question.
I have a 2 year old (nursed until he weaned himself at 15 months :( )
and an 11 week old.
My midwife suggested a Depo shot and I'm considering it but wanted to
ask you all. Does it interfere with b/fing at all? That's my primary
concern. Any complaints?...

How long till the supply dries up? by

Portia wrote:
So it's been about a week since he was last fed. Does anyone have any idea
how long it will be before my breasts dry up? I'm not leaking, but there's
still some milk there. Neither are they engorged... I guess the gradual
stopping helped with that.
There may be some *tiny*...

How long for allergic reation? by
Andrea
Hi all.
I have been keeping a food diary for Kam. He reacted badly to pear, so that
prompted me to keep one.
My question is his reaction is severe eczema on his face and on the back of
his knees.
He is all clear now, and has had banana for 3 days without reaction, and
also apple for 3 days.
How...

Sprogly's 4 month WBV by
zeldabee
He's 26.5 inches long, 15.5 lbs. The weight was a surprise, because I was
sure he'd be at least 16 lbs. But his weight gain has slowed down--65%ile
while it was 75%ile at 11 weeks; he's still in the 95%ile for length. Head
circumference is still almost exactly average.
I went in half expecting the...

ot - sleeping on tummy - is it ever safe? by
teapot
The Moo boy is nearly 7 months now and shows no sign of rolling. I
had read somewhere that when they can roll they are safe to put on
their tummys to sleep. If I put him down on his tummy he is more
likely to settle than if I put him on his back so I want to be able to
do this if it's safe.
We co...

evening fussiness and long rem stage by
Liz S. Reynolds
Margaret seems a lot more "twitchy" than my first baby. She startles easily
and takes a long time to enter deep sleep from rem sleep. When she's in rem
sleep she often startles at nothing - I wonder if she has those "I'm
falling" dreams that jerk you awake just as you are dropping off. It seems
to...

Since I have gone back to work, we have been combi feeding. I pump during

nursing in the morning and the evening and the middle of the night feeding
and not during the day, is a Mamm body "smart" enough to have a sort...
