uhm, unusual question by
E
I am probably too late answering this... one thing I do is bring along a
pump and pump myself and then give DD the bottle. this also works well for
long car rides - we don't have to stop while I nurse her - I just sit next
to her in the back seat.
Hope you have (had) a good time!

16 weeks not sleeping again by

Although I explained very clearly the benefits of sleeping so his
parents are not big grumpy messes in the morning, Moo boy just didnt
listen and has been awake and grizzly every hour and a half for the
past 2 nights. He doesnt sleep for long stretches during the day
either. I though he might be...

OT Vent: People are STUPID by
New York Jen
We took Laszlo to a birthday party on Sunday for a kid who he barely sees.
It was at a Gymboree that we don't go to with a ton of people (kids and
adults) that he does not know. Add in that he had a poor night's sleep
before and was catching up in the car when we got there, so his nap was...

Cloth diapers, at it again!!! by
peggy-o
So I have been trying really hard to make this work but I am still
having a hard time getting them tight enough. I can see why pampers
evolved. I guess there is a price to pay for being environmentally
conscience. I've been working with prefolds but if I can't make this
work I'm going to switch to...

When should a baby start going to Nursery? by
Mom2B
I'm 36 weeks pregnant.
I will *need* to go back to work around 4 months after the baby is born. I
will initially go back 4 days a week until my baby is about 12 months old,
and my MIL (Mother-In-Law) has offered to look after the baby during the 4
days
I'm at work.
Although my MIL could provide...

The thread on whole milk got me thinking...once a baby weans (either
weans by themselves or "forced"), if they are allergic to dairy, what is
the fat that they can take to help brain development instead of the fat
found in whole milk?
Dairy fats are *not* much like the fat in breastmilk...

Flu-apillar by

Poor baby was fine at bathtime, feverish at bedtime, cried
all night, and tested positive for Influenza A this morning.
She's on amantadine (Symmetrel), an anti-viral. Allyson and
I have been prescribed it prophylactically. Hales says L3 -
"amantadine is known to suppress prolactin production...

Any help with the following issue would be much appreciated:
I have a 6 week old daughter. She nurses about 10 times (roughly every
3 to 4 hours) during the day with 6 - 8 wet / dirty disposable diapers

I don't get it, why do you HAVE to cut a boy's hair just because
it gets long. Do any of you ask your son's if they WANT to?
Erm.
He's 10 months old today.
I COULD ask him, but his English is pretty limited.

Passing an illness via breastmilk? by
Cathy Weeks
Hi all,
A friend just called me - she's got an intestinal bug, and wondered if
she could pass it to her 8 month old via breastmilk. Should she keep
nursing, or pump-n-dump and use formula?
I told her that as far as I knew she could keep nursing, that if
anything, the breastmilk would help protect...

joint pain - rheumatoid arthritis or what? by

Since DS was born, 9 weeks ago, I have been waking up with stiff and sore
finger and wrist joints in both hands. It's very slight, but it's
definitely there, and it seems to be getting worse rather than better. Most
of the stiffness wears off quite soon, but not all, and now in the late
afternoon,...
