Does anyone know if it is OK to take Advil for an extended period of time while breastfeeding (DD is 14 months old) I am back to work and my old SI joint problems have flared up again. They never really went away with 14 months off work but now it's really flaring up bad. I used to...

EBM question by Purple Gal
Hello all, I have a quick question. If I am giving my baby an EBM meal, can I re-refrigerate what he doesn't eat at least 1x to try to give to him later? I hate wasting it since I work so hard to get it for him. Please advise... thanks! Adela P.S., for those who followed me in Betsy's "anyone...

5wks...better, but more questions! (pumping and child care) by V.
So, Madi is now 5 wks old, and you were all right....we are "over the hump" and bfing has gotten much better. Thanks to all that replied with help on the latch issue. It's still not perfect, but better. I found that I needed to pay more attention to angles....the angle of my nipple in her mouth,...

Why in God's name won't she sleep? by Amy
I feel like I'm being forced to take part in a sleep-deprivation experiment. Yesterday, DD's naps got all screwed up because we were out during the day, and she just refuses to sleep under any circumstances that are the slightest bit off her routine, so she napped from roughly 3 until 7, then was...

anyone exclusively feed by bottle EBM? by oregonchick
I have been so sick the last couple days my husband has been bottle feeding EBM and I've been pumping every 3-4 hrs. It's just been so much easier this way. I like the idea of mostly bottle feeding, but wonder if my supply will maintain with this routine. What if we continue to bottle feed ebm...

Sore nipple - at 13 1/2 months by Cathy
Hi all, I have been experiencing a sore right nipple for a wee while now (approx 2 months). It comes and goes, hence my not getting on to it earlier. The last 2 weeks or so though, it has been pretty constant, and I've had 2 lots of plugged ducts, which I haven't had for ages.. DD2 (13 1/2...

Need support - extended breastfeeding issues by Cathy Weeks
I always thought that I'd let Kivi self wean. She's now 2 days away from her 4th birthday, and showing NO sign of weaning. And in fact, she still seems to need it. Our major breastfeedings each day are when we wake up, at naptime, and at bedtime, though when the latter happens, she doesn't nurse...

First day back at work by Emily
Hi folks, Today was my first full day away from DS. DH is on paternity leave for 8 weeks, so DS was home with him. I was actually back at work yesterday, but have arranged to work from home two days a week, so DS only had one bottle yesterday (as a result of being out & about with DH). While I...

How long after general anethesia can I nurse? by Spanannie
DD is 18 mos old. I will be having general anethesia tomorrow at 6:30am. How many hours until I can nurse her? I'm sure she will want milk when I come home...or at least for her nap. Hopefully someone has the answer to this. I forgot to ask the nurse, but I don't know if I would trust that...

Digital baby book !!! by [email protected]
Why a digital baby book...Baby books are so special because it's so easy to forget the small details. Traditional baby books are so generic and once it's written in...that's it. You can't share a copy with your family and if something happens to the book you've lost those extremely precious...

7 month old update by Jo
Well, our sleeping issue is getting better... I feed Will to sleep around 8pm, and he'll go for 2 - 4 hours now. He'll not wake more than 3 times a night, and rarely he'll go more than 4 hours for us. And I think the dummy is here to stay. I should have gotten rid of it at 6 months, but the...

Poll: Birth Control by Amy
What sort of birth control are you other nursing moms on? I'm on Ortho-Micronor but I don't like it. I don't get a period, and I am just sure that I'm going to start showing any minute now because I've gotten pregnant again and don't realize it. I tried on a skirt yesterday that's a little tight...

Question about baby taking Antibiotic by Carol Ann
I found a bit of what appears to be mucous in Morgan's diaper and in her vaginal area. Could the antibiotics have given her a yeast infection as they sometimes do to us? ~Carol Ann Oh, for those interested, I took Robuttusin and feel AWESOME now!

Breastfeeding as contraceptive by Angela
Ok - so I think I know the stats on breastfeeding as a contraceptive, ie 98% effective if baby less then 6 months, exclusively BFing frequently day and night. My 3 month old DD2 sleeps for a good 8 - 10 hours most nights (still can't quite belive this after a year of DD1 not sleeping through!!)...

Can I take MucinexD? by Carol Ann
I am so miserable. Can I take this? The pharmacist says it is similar to Robutussin, and he can't see why it would harm Morgan, but what do you think? -- ~Carol Ann http://tinyurl.com/b9e9r Pics of Morgan

For those who have fed EBM exclusively... by oregonchick
I was wondering how much and how often you usually pump? I am doing an every 4 hr routine round the clock, and pump about 6-8 oz per side (for a grand total of about 72-96oz per day). Emily is 3 wks old, and generally is eating 16 oz per 24 hrs. So I am freezing at least 42oz per day. I...
