Getting splinters out of a toddler? by
Cathy Weeks
Hi all,
My daughter wound up with a horrible, huge, splinter in one of her
fingers, and I never even tried to dig it out - I knew it would be a
horrible ordeal, one that would include two adults trying to
physically restrain a 2.5 year old, and hope to hold her still enough
to not injure the...

toothpaste by

DS has been using the fluoride free toothpaste since his first tooth came
in. He is almost 3 yo. We tried the fluoridated kids' toothpaste recently
and he didn't like it. Now, when he sees it, he throws a fit. He only
wants the fluoride free variety. Eventually, I'd like him to use...

he would take a tissue from the box on the table, wipe his nose
(it was not running) go across the room and throw it away.
then he repeated the process again and again many times (I...

laurie
My kids go to daycare very infrequently- about once a week for 3-5 hours.
Mostly, it's been for me to get stuff done (3 hours) but now, my hours have
changed at work and they'll have to be there about 5- just the one day.
The problem- Jessica always cries and cries when I drop her off, insists...

The Story About the Toddler, Volume 14.

Our daughter Cordelia is now 25 months old. This is, in theory, a marvelous

human beings. They are realizing that everything, from putting on their clothes

rewarding academic achievement by
Kylie Carberry
Hi, I am a freelance writer, researching for an article about whether
we reward academic achievement enough or put too much emphasis on
sporting achievements instead. Leading to children thinking it's
"uncool" to be good at school. If anyone would like to share their
personal thoughts please...

constant crying by
Melanie N
Hi, I have a two week old baby boy who cries (screams) anytime he is
not being held. He will only sleep in our arms. I have a two year old,
also, so carrying the baby around constantly is not possible. Should I
just let the newborn cry it out? I've tried just letting him cry but
he never falls...

Anyone willing to email me their monthly budget. I cannot imagine I cannot

Here is mine with a column for current, and a column for what I think could
be workable. All the ins are just ins. I have them categorized funky. In the
"wishful thinking" category, I would be a...

I've been teaching Aurora to sight read and spell simple, common words and
recently pulled a few flashcards out of a set for this purpose. One of these
cards had the word "what" on one side with another word that I wanted to
teach her (or that she already knows) on the other. Well, she found...
