38.5 week update by
[email protected]
My bp is being good for me this week. My bp and pulse are really high
when I first walk in, but after resting they are more normal, like
150/90ish which is good for me lately. I have orthopedic issues that
make walking more of a marathon for me than most people though, so
probably not too...

Is it possible to induce pregnancy symptoms in men? by
Sarah Vaughan
Yup, it's a real question.
A friend of a friend, who works in the TV business, is thinking about
doing a show in which the partners of pregnant women are put through the
same symptoms as their partners are suffering. The question raised was
how you'd go about doing this, so mutual friend passed...

How much is too much?? by
Carol Ann
I just can't believe it!!! Morgan fell down today and scraped up her nose,
lip and forehead. She was not even walking fast.
Last week 3 times in one day she fell and bumped her noggin.
I feel like a horrible mother!

Poll: How much television do you let your child watch? by
Alicia Norm
If you have a moment, please participate in a quick poll..
It seems like today's children watch quite a bit more television than when
I grew up. I am curious about how many actual hours you let your children
watch in a day. (This includes video in the car,...

specific nutritional needs while pregnant? by
take two
I know the general guideline of eating approx 300 calories more than usual
while pregnant. But are there specific dietary needs that change while
pregnant? Like more protein? I can't seem to find anything specific on the
internet, but surely there's some info somewhere. I'm still struggling...

FETUSES AS OLYMPIC ATHLETES
Life's first athletic event - birth - can keep some fetuses out of the
Olympics later in life.

Fee for faxing the maternity forms by
Priyha Thirukonda
Hi,
I will be taking maternity leave and the HR wanted me to give some forms
(the physicians form and employee authorization form) to the OB/GYN . These
forms will be filled by the physician and will be faxed to SAS by them.
My OB/GYN is charging me $25.00 for this, I would like to know if this...

how to deal with nanny at home by
Larry McMahan
Hmm. I generally don't like to give contraversial opinions
on stuff like this, I would rather find a way to make a
rational compromise, but...
I am not the nanny, but if I were, and someone came to me
out of the blue with this list of complaints I would get
very angry.

Excellent response to TIME magazine! by
Todd Gastaldo
TIME magazine's recent pro-fluoridation article by Leon Jaroff was horrible.
(It's in the April 27 issue.)
Fortunately Jaroff's horrible article served the purpose of generating this
excellent response by JEAN McCONE (which came to me via Paul Connett's FAN
Campaign Bulletin #221)...
Jean McCone...

Bad dream - hypothetical loss ment by
Emily
Hi folks,
I had a bad dream last night in which I
lost this baby :( Something to do with being
given medication for a condition which I thought
was acute, and then stopping the meds once
the symptoms went, though I was supposed to
continue them. The odd thing was that the
delivery (or m/c) itself...

33.5 Week Update by
CY
Nothing new to report. Still measuring ahead (now at 38 weeks), but BP is
perfect (unlike last time where at this point I was having PIH), baby's
heartbeat is perfect (145), and doc seems to think baby would weigh about 5
lbs if born now...using my calculations, if he grows at .5 lbs a week,...

First shots by
medgirl
My daughter goes in tomorrow for her two month vaccinations. I hadn't been
too worried about this until my dad mentioned today that one of my siblings
cried for about twenty-four hours straight after getting shots (I'm not sure
how much of an exaggeration this might be). I know some fussiness is...

rats -- what to do? by
Larry McMahan
emilymr emily@xxxxxx writes:
OK. From the follow-ups and your responses, I get it that you are
renting, and that you do not own the house.
: Am I being too paranoid?
Well, yes. At least about the rat attacking the baby. A rat is
pretty small by comparison, and will avoid anything larger.

cord clamping? by

: whats your wisdom on this? How long should the cord remain unclamped?
There have been a number of answers here already that you should
wait until it stops pulsating, and you asked "how long is that?"
I...
