Formaldehyde in household cleaning products ! by
ShaliPower
Has anyone here spent time reading the labels of the cleaning products
in their home ? If not, you should !
They commonly contain phosphates and carcinogens that are
scientifically proven to cause many of the debilitating, and sometimes
even FATAL, diseases that are crippling our nation.

Breastfeeding with older children. by
shanihn
I have an 18 month old, and 1 month old twins. I have to nurse the
twins separately right now, and each nursing session takes around 1hr
(30 min. for each baby). My older son doesn't take well to this, and
I don't know how to keep him occupied (i.e.: keep him from trying to
hit the babies, etc.)...

Help! Is it too late for me? by
shanihn
A little background.
I have 6 week old twins. We got off to a bad start in the hospital,
because of poor positioning. At 4 days post-partum, I ended up with
traumatized, bleeding nipples. I had to stop nursing, and pump full
time. After my nipples healed, i got thrush. When I had that...

VERY dissapointed in Boston Globe by

http://www.boston.com/yourlife/health/diseases/articles/2004/02/03/sure_breast_is_best_but_is_it_worth_it/
I usually enjoy Dr. Sanghavi's writing, but was extremely dissapointed by
this. I'm composing a letter to the editor, but it probably won't be
published as it will be too long. He...

Shannon
Well I finally got a pump last weekend, thank god. Im was so tired of hand
expressing. I can actually relax now when I do it and it only takes 10-15
minutes. In case anyone here is looking for a good pump to rent in Niagara
region Ontario there is a place called get pumped in St. Catharine's it is...

Article on weaning by
Shannon
I found this article on weaning in a local "Parents and Kids" online paper.
http://www.townonline.com/parentsandkids/news/news/pak_feapkweanaug07252003.htm.
I was surprised at how open-minded it was, and generally okay with the idea
of child-led weaning. With the thread about weaning that just...

Saw something nice by
Shannon
I saw a friend and her baby for the first time this weekend, since she had
the baby. Baby is about 3 months old, typical for that age, and very cute &
chubby. Friend is nursing. Having no problems, not embarrassed about it at
all. It was delightful to see, at last, someone with no issues - it...

Weight Q again. by
Shannon
I am not an expert, but ...
Is she growing taller? If she's growing up at the same time as she's
learning all these new activities (cruising, crawling etc) that it's no
wonder that she's not putting on any or maybe losing a little - she's
burning it off! Just keep up the food, and eventually...

feel isolated ideas anyone? by
Shannon and Joe
I remember feeling *exactly* the same way, except I couldn't really go
anywhere because DS screamed all the time.
A mother and baby group, where everyone understands exactly what you're
going through was the perfect socialization for me. If DS screamed all I
got were sympathetic murmerings,...

Anyone out there using CPAP? by

My husband uses a CPAP. It didn't interfere with me at all. I can't see that
it would interfere with a family bed much.
It's a heck of a lot quieter than snoring!

solids at 10 months by
Shannon G
Okay, I've heard from everyone and everything I've read that, until one year
of age, solids are for learning and experimenting and should only make up
50% or so of the diet. Is that because theoretically they may not want to
eat much in the way of solids or because they shouldn't?
DD is 10 1/2...

Everyone is asking the question.... by
Shannon G
"Are you STILL breastfeeding?", or "When are you going to wean?"
How do I approach this, and not start a confrontation, or be too rude.
The
true answer is, "I have absolutely no idea when I am going to wean". She
doesn't eat much solids now, so I feel that she needs the nutrition...
