margaret at 1 month by
Liz S. Reynolds
just got back from our 1 month checkup, she's 10 lb 14 oz and 22 1/2
inches. The little mooselet gained 1 lb 2 oz in 2 1/2 weeks, the dr said
whatever we're doing is just fine :*)
I was worried about her nasal congenstion, it sounds just awful and since
she's in bed with us it keeps me up worrying...

Llort Agig
Beware of mutated babies, they will bite off your breasts and eat them!
Your baby may be mutated, so beware!
Better call the monster hunters first and an exorcist !

need encourgement/advice by
Lmv
Im hoping some one here can help me. My baby is 13 weeks old and has only
been breastfeed. I work full time, I can not scale back my hours and I can
not get to my baby at all during the day to nurse. She is now drinking 22OZ
of EBM per day and there is no way I can pump that much. I have taken...

Natural Asthma Treatment by

Your doctor may not be interested, even after you show them the
documented results of the clinical trial.
You will most likely be told that if the treatment was effective, the
Food and Drug Administration (FDA) would have approved it; if a
treatment is not approved, it cannot be a good and...

New Zealand: Nought to Five by
LoopyNZ
I only know of one other NZ contributor to this newsgroup (Amy), but in
case there are other readers, there's a good new parenting show on at
the moment called Nought to Five
(http://www.sparc.org.nz/education/nought-to-five)
It's on at 2:30 in the afternoons - i.e. very low profile :( - but...

"Just a Taste" of Solids by
LoopyNZ
Hi there,
My six-month-old DS has just started solids. I'm just experimenting at
the moment, so he's having a few spoonfuls of sweet potato each day this
week, maybe potato then apple in the weeks to come.
My question is about my parents and in-laws. Now that he's "on solids",
I'm a bit...

Should I Wake Baby? by
LoopyNZ
Hi there,
DS (3.5 months, healthy weight gain) has been sleeping technically
through the night (5-6 hours) for a while now. (I'm not sure why I wake
up to feed him - I have no alarm, and he doesn't seem to be awake, but
perhaps he just snuffles enough to wake me up.)
Last night he slept for 8...

No Milk At Night by
LoopyNZ
Hi,
I've been breastfeeding DS since he was born three months ago with no
problems, but over the past week when it comes to the bedtime feed
(around 9pm) it seems like I have no milk to give him in either breast.
He sucks a bit then gets frustrated and either pulls off or - more
often - keeps...

Boiled Water by
LoopyNZ
Quite a few times, my very helpful (I'm not being sarcastic, BTW!)
mother and mother-in-law have each suggested feeding DS (8wks) boiled
water. I think its purpose is to stop him comfort feeding, or maybe to
give him water when he's just thirsty not hungry?
Anyway, I'm not really comfortable doing...

Which Breast When? by
LoopyNZ
Hi,
My midwife and child health (Plunket) nurse have given me totally
different versions of how to feed in terms of which breast when. (Maybe
both their advice is right but for different stages in his development.)
Midwife: Alternate at each feed, i.e. one breast for 2-3 hours, then...

Feeding Expressed Milk by
LoopyNZ
Hi there,
I'm a long-time m.k.b/m.k.p lurker and found these groups invaluable (as
well as being a huge time-waster!) during my pregnancy.
I've been breastfeeding my first child since he was born a month ago,
and it's all going well (thank goodness!). Now I'd like to think about
arranging to...

Biting help please! by
Lora R
Hello,
My son was pretty early getting teeth--he got two bottom teeth at 3.5
months. Now he's 4.5 months and one on top came in 3 days ago. Ever
since the top tooth came in, he's been biting me nonstop. I've read
the archives for suggestions, and I've been saying OUCH and smooshing
his face...

Thrush help again, please! by
Lora R
Hello,
My son is now 8 weeks old, and we've been battling a mild (not in the
milk ducts) case of thrush for a week or so. At this point I'm not
sure what more to do. How do you know when thrush is gone?
Here is what we've done so far:
-Diflucan for me
-Acidophilus for me

Hale's look up please by
Lora R
Hello,
My 7 week old son and I have thrush! One of the things I was
prescribed was a cream for my nipples called Ketoconazole Cream, 2%.
I think that's the generic name, the brand name is Nizoral. I looked
it up on Google Groups, and found that one person's doctor said it
wasn't to be used...

When to reintroduce pacifier/bottles after nipple confusion? by
Lora R
Hello, I'm a lurker and I've gotten so much great information from
reading your posts. So thank you all for that! Now I have a question
of my own to ask, and I couldn't find the answer in the Google
archives.
My son is 6.5 weeks old and exclusively breastfed. At around 4 weeks,
everything was...

He weaned by
Lora R
I'm a lurker who has posted occasionally in the past. I wanted to
post here because I'm so full of emotions and there are only a couple
of people in my life who understand extended nursing.
My son is 3.5 years old, and I think he weaned this week. For the
first 3 years of his life he nursed a...

Preemie questions--formula suggested by
Lora R
Hello all,
My friend Kim had her third baby, Josie, 7 weeks early. Josie is now
6 weeks old. She is (was until last night) exclusively breastfed.
Kim took her to the doctor yesterday for a weight check, and she had
gained a pound in 2 weeks. Kim was really excited about that, as the
doctor had...

can my milk be saved by
Lori
I am so mad right now I could scream. I have told my mother in law who
watches my baby half the week to only heat 2 oz of EBM at a time. I got
home early today and found that she had heated the entire 9 oz! Is it a
total loss. I am new at this pumping thing (I just went back to work) I
know I...
