Lifting a toddler post-partum? by
Irene
This is something that is starting to worry me...how realistic is it
for me to be able to lift my approx 38lb toddler in the first few
weeks post-partum? I know this is a definite YMMV thing, but I will
say that currently I do carry him a fair amount, like up and down
stairs or from the parking...

oh man, I'm doomed by
Vicky Bilaniuk
A local grocery store is selling great big HUGE bags of those little
candy-covered Cadbury milk chocolate eggs. I'm not talking about those
bags that are like one size up from the really small ones (equivalent to
maybe about two small bags). I'm talking a gigantic bag that is
equivalent to, like,...

Miscarriage by
Jennifer
Last Wednesday I decided to take a HPT because I was 4 days late. My
cycles are very regular. I took an EPT test on Wednesday and it
should a faint positive line. I knew that any line was good news, so
I started to become excited at the thought of being pregnant. I
waited to get home to tell my...

March due dates by
Mary S.
How are all the almost-almost-theres? :) Knee-deep in childbirth
classes? Waking up a zillion times at night, have to pee more often?
Take some video of those alien-baby-earthquake kicks and tumbles, if you
can catch them. Any belly hiccups? Those are the best. How's life
generally treating...

Pain in thighs while sleeping by
bstitt
I am in my 8th month :-) with our first child and am constantly getting
pains in my thigh (whichever side I'm sleeping on (which wakes me up :-) ).
Is that the baby lying on a nerve? If not, is there any way to prevent it,
put something underneath me? I've also considered sleeping sitting up,...

Spray on tans by
mypet
I'm asking for someone else:
A friend (3 mos. along) is in a wedding next weekend and was wondering
the safest way to get some color in her skin. While she said she
would not do the tanning booth or outdoors tanning, she was wondering
about the safety of the artificial kinds. She specifically...

Homebirth - reasons for transfer... by
Buzzy Bee
As some of you here know, I had a son, Seoras, who was born at home
last year. He did not breathe, due to a rare but not unheard of lack
of reflexive breathing instinct. This was not predictable and had he
been born in hospital his survival chances would not have been any
better. Its extremely...

birth weight prediction by
toypup
I know everyone will say how inaccurate they are, but I wonder if that isn't
just because we tend to remember the ones that are way off base. I'd like
to hear the other side of the coin. Anyone here have their baby's weight
predicted have their doc be right on or pretty close?
The perinatologist...

slow amniotic fluid leak? by
Abi
Hi,
does anyone know what happens if you have a slow (but barely
noticeable) amount of amniotic fluid leaking at 29 weeks along? I have
no idea whether I have, but I had to have an ultrasound to check
everything out - the fluid levels are within normal limits but quite
low still, but my fundal...

Drawer Liners: Neccessary??? by
Carol Ann
Are drawer liners necessary for the baby stuff? I am using my old furniture
and don't know if it is best to line them and if so, with scented or
unscented?
Does it matter what I use to clean the furniture? Worried about toxins.
Also, which detergent do you recommend for washing her...

TMI Olive oil to prevent tearing by
Anne Marie
Hello all. I was told that if you message olive oil "down there" that it
will lower the risk of tearing during childbirth. Does anyone have any
thoughts or experiences on this?

My due date's been moved back! by
Naomi Rivkis
I've been demoted! I am now considered 36 weeks instead of 37 weeks.
They changed my EDD from 2/28 to 3/6. I am frustrated and disappointed
and impatient. Oh well. I know that any given date, of course, means
"probably somewhere within about two weeks before or after, except if
it's more or less,"...
