people are so weird ;-) by Vicky Bilaniuk
*Why* is it that they keep asking me if anything has happened yet? We've told them, a hundred times at least, that we will not keep the birth of our child a secret, yet they still either phone and ask, e-mail and ask, or just outright ask in person. Sheesh!!!

16wk DS update by Angela Schepers
Quinn went in for his 16 week checkup. He is now 16lbs 7oz, 25 inches long, and a chunky, healthy, developmentally on track little boy. He's sleeping well through the night, has picked up the quantity his feeds at 5-7oz EBM 5 times a day. He got more vaccs so he's being pretty sleepy today after...

Ohhhh heartburn help needed! by sleepy67
It started about a week ago at 2:30am and hasn't stopped. I've had it mildly all along but now these middle of the night flare ups wake me up gagging and vomitting acid. I've tried tums, rolaids, milk, crackers, not eating before bed, propping up almost sitting and now resort to just staying up,...

A good day by Jenrose
We met with a new backup midwife today--she was great, DH likes her, DD likes her, I like her, our philosophies and styles seem very compatible and she was *so* respectful compared to every other midwife I've talked to. Very reassuring and such a relief. She's totally willing to give me whatever...

OB appointments are making me depressed! (27 week appt.) by Wendy
I had my 27 week appt. today and when my doctor saw how much weight I have gained he raised his eyebrows and said "you had quite a jump in weight this month!" He said this in a mild not mean tone of voice but it was enough to set me off and I started crying. In front of a medical student he brought...

Low sperm count means girl? by Holtzhold
I'm the idiot who wanted a boy but masturbated a few times before having sex (not knowing better)that I believe was the one that resulted in our pregnancy. I've heard that having sex gets rid of 'male' sperm or at least decreases the chance for a boy. Question is how much? My wife ovulated the day...

question about what women normally experience at end of pregnancy... by Vicky Bilaniuk
Is it common for women to become more and more depressed with each passing day after their due date? This is definitely happening to me, but I blame it on the *situation*, rather than hormones. My situation has definitely stressed me out very much. I'm starting to feel pretty desperate. I'm...

Sleeping on back by Rivergirl
I'm 14 weeks pregnant and I sleep on my back. In some of my reading, it says it's bad for the baby to do that. Should I be worried, or is this just a third trimester problem? Thanks Suzie

Micaela's Birth Story (VERY LONG!) by Nic H
On Friday, August 20th we got to the hospital around 11am and booked in for my induction. I wasn't due until 3 days after that, but with the concerns I was having it made it a fairly easy decision to induce, I had *quite* a short labour with my first born for a start. I was told being induced...

international travel with 3 month old infant? by [email protected]
Okay, my DH's parents live in the UK, we live in the US. Our baby is due in September - they would like us (as the baby will be the first grandchild) to fly out to the UK for xmas so they can show off their new grandchild to the rest of the family. I spoke to our (soon to be) pediatrician about the...

Spitting up update by Jill
I figured it out! Rachel *only* spits up when I eat ice cream. I never did a long time of eliminating all dairy-- but she almost completely stopped the spitting up when I stopped eating ice cream, and when I forgot and ate some yesterday her spitting up has started again, especially in the 24...

28 weeks - dried up nipples? by newfy.1

Why oh why... by Plissken
do they make maternity vitamins so damn big? I have a hard enough time swallowing vitamins when I'm not pregnant and when I'm pregnant my gag reflex is on overdrive. They make birth control pills tiny enough to drop down the bathroom sink and make these HUGE vitamins for pregnant women to choke...
