kindergarten bullies by
RLK
After school, ds plays with 2 other boys. One of the boys has been
antagonizing my son by barking in his ear. I gather this is a territorial
way of acting, esp. if there are more than 2 boys playing.... every day ds
tries so hard to be part of the group and he is near tears after being
barked at...

Baby sign language? by
Zen Cohen
Who's tried it and what do you think of it? Is it something you can learn
to do effectively on your own or do you recommend taking a 'workshop.' (eg:
http://www.imaginationsigners.com/index.htm)
TIA.

Funny story about my 17 month old. (At least to me) by
Jason Stanley
Last night she was sitting in my lap facing me and I had a book on my chest
reading it to her. She grabbed the book at smacked me in the cheek with the
corner of it. I said "Oww!!!" and grabbed the side of my face and said "you
don't hit".
The look on her face was one of devastation. She was so...

Books for toddlers about dreams/nightmares by
Nancy P.
Does anyone have a recommendation that would explain to a toddler what
dreams are? I've been telling my DD that they're not real, and its like a
movie you see when you're sleeping, only often you're in it...And that
nothing you see in your dreams can really hurt you, but its normal to be
scared,...

Alpha Omega vs. Britax Marathon?? by
Meg
Hi!
I've posted a few times, but mostly lurk and receive some great
advice!
So, here's my question: I have 7 1/2 mo B/G twins that will soon be
transferring out of their carseat carriers to the next level. After
going through this with my almost 3yo, I want to get one carseat that
will last as...

John Duigan's HEAD IN THE CLOUDS is a pretty period picture that's deadly
dull. A long, rambling melodrama that never amounts to anything, it is

and new parents - our youngest is almost 3 and I find myself wanting
another baby - the problem is that my husband doesn't. On the other side

Anyone tried bowflex? (x posted) by
ted
With all the threads about weightloss floating around on mkb, I
thought I'd ask. We are planning to get a bowflex so I thought I'd
look around ask for opinions. Here most of the year is warm enough for
a walk/run outside and I don't really like treadmills. We both like
bowflex or some such weights...

Responsible for grandkids? by

I am 50 years old and I have 3 grown children. I have always told my kids
that when they have children, not to expect grandma to offer free
babysitting as I have "done my time"
I have one granddaughter who is 9. She stays over night about 4 times a
year, that is enough for me as I find it hard...

Suggestions on where to find pants for tall skinny 3 yo by
KD
My ds is 3yo. 2T pants usuall fit him pretty good around the waist,
but are too short. 3T are long enough, but are way to big around the
waist. He's tall and skinny. Any suggestions on where to find pants.
I'm not much of a seamstress and don't have the time to take in all
his clothes, but I will...

Prevention of lice at school? by
Tina
Hi everyone!
The thread about lice is really scaring me, and I hope to avoid having
to deal with it if at all possible. My daughter, who started at a
brand new school this week, has waist length, *thick* curly hair that I
wouldn't want to cut (and she wouldn't want me to either), but now...

day care daily sheet for toddlers by

Those of you with toddlers in day care- do you (still?) get a daily
sheet? If so, what is on it? (If anyone has theirs scanned in, please
send it to me, or send me a URL!)
My day care provider recently shortened the one I get to a paragraph
about what the class did and whether my son ate...
