No teeth but biting! by
Irish Marie
Liam doesn't have any teeth yet but lately he is biting down with his gums
and twisting as he comes off the breast. OWW!! He thinks this is fun because
he grins at me when I wince in pain. What do I do, he's only 5 months so I
don't think telling him no, or removing him will get the message...

Is extra sleep a symptom of 13 week growth spurt?? by
Rebecca
Our 13 week old, up until last week, had settled himself down into a
fairly regular feeding pattern (vaguely every 3 hours) and I was
'persuading' him to have sleeps regularily when he was tired - telling
by his eye rubbing, nigglyness and eyes closing but him startling
himself awake. These sleeps...

Shrugging comments off.....:( by
FayeC
My best friend was a nurse for about 10 years then decided to change
carreers.
She kept her old thinking about breastfeeding and child raising though and
although she doesn't bug me to stop breastfeeding *too much* she does make
comments like "if she was on the bottle she would be sleeping through...

twin nursing pillow by
Ellie
Does anybody know a really good twin nursing pillow I can get in the UK? I
have beenusing a normal v shaped relaxer pillow which was fine when the
twins weighed 8 1/2 lb between them, but they are considerably heavier now
and it's not working anymore :o)))

Vent, questions by
dibsfree
My little one is 4 weeks old today. Breastfeeding has been hit and miss at
best. I never did get 'engorged' when my milk did come it. I had a tiny
tiny bit of leaking, but not much. She has only once actually nursed to
satisfaction. She generally can nurse from 20-40 minutes per side and...

Night time feeding by
Ellie
This is probably going to seem like a crazy question, and perhaps I should
just be grateful, but my twins have suddenly started sleeping very well
through the night. We've suddenly gone from waking every 3 hours to feed to
sleeping for a minimum of 6 hours at a stretch.
They have their last feed...

Child Mag article on starting solids by
Molly Ging
Hi All-
My sister called me with information that she read in Child Magazine (i
don't subscribe). Basically the jist of the article was that solids should
not be introduced before 4 months and even thought the new recommendation
was 6 months there have been studies that babies who start solids...

Day and night meals mixed-up by
sher
Before I went back to work, Aamon (3mo) nursed every 3-4 hours during
the day and would go 5-6 hours between meals at night. This schedule
was working great for everyone. However, since I've started back to
work, he has switched his days and nights, and doesn't each much
during the day. He takes...

It finally happened by
Melissa
I knew MIL was going to ask the question one of these days, but she finally
did on Sunday. "So, Melissa," she says on Sunday, "how long are you going to
bf DD?" I laughed and told her that the proper answer was until she started
college. Then I assured her that we were planning on weaning soon...

OT-Teething by
Bach
DS is 4.5 months old and cut his first tooth yesterday. For the last
2 nights he wakes up more often whimpering and sometimes screaming.
He is clearly in discomfort. It occurred to me that I should give him
Tylenol before he goes to bed in order to allow him to sleep without
as much pain. In...

Need clear plan and advice on stopping formula supplementation by
jjmoreta
I've posted here before and I've seen other recent posts (which I'm taking
into consideration), but I'm asking for some clear concise instructions
here. I've been rather sick lately and having trouble getting my naps in so
my thinking is rather muddled this week.
My son has been supplemented...

She said the word! by
Molly Fisher
This morning DD came in while I was working on the computer and asked,
"Nurse?" She's used the word instead of signing or pulling on my shirt
every time today. She slays me :-) Seventeen months old tomorrow!

worried about the future by
Anne Rogers
Before ds was born I intended to nurse him through the first year, it
hadn't occured to me that longer might be good. Now I'm better educated,
it's best for him to carry on longer and I intend to let him self wean.
The problem is my mum and my friends, they all think I am nuts, they
already think I...

cow's milk vs formula for 16mo?? by
Dawn Lawson
any reason NOT to use cow's milk if he's only taking about 4 oz at
bedtime? *I* will happily be the one to fork out the cash for organic
formula, if it makes more sense.
:-(
