I was fortunate to have met my daughter's birth mother. Having met
her and seen the pain she was going through has had a tremendous
impact on me. I am grateful that when my daughter asks - I can
honestly tell her that her birth mother loves her very much (and that

approval and friendship of this one little girl in her class who is also in
the extended care program with her. This girl is a "leader" (or "alpha")

Need help with Toddler!!! by
stayinhomemom
Hello, I'm new here and wanted to see if anyone had some advise. I have a
25 month old & a 9 month old, both boys. My toddler is anything but
cooperative and although I know this is "age appropriate", it doesn't make
it any easier. He runs in the opposite direction when I'm calling his
name,...

Anyone have any suggestions for dealing with a 5 year old who is getting

doesn't get what she wants, no matter how small the issue is, she starts
arguing and arguing, followed by screaming and name calling when the

1 in 4 forget Mom on her day
Most Americans will remember to call their mothers or send cards for
Mother's Day tomorrow, but about one in four will forget the national
holiday altogether, according to a new survey.

Harness/reins for toddler by
donna
Hi
I would like to usea harness/reins on my toddler son...what do you
think of them? I personally don't have a problem with using them, but
I know some people consider them to be inhumane/cruel....so I'm in a
bit of a dilema....
Thanks

What do you use by
Vic
I have been watching the Harness / Reins for toddler thread. What I would
like to focus my question on is how many of you currently use some sort of
physical means to restrict the movement of children. How many of you use or
have used a harness / reins for a child and tell me the ages that you...

question about telling about adoption by
amy
Hi all. Another question for the group.
My husband's mother died when he was a baby, and his father remarried.
His stepmom raised him as her own, and is his "Mom."
I was wondering at what point it is generally considered the right time
to tell our kids--her grandkids that kind of information.

(poll) stroller-to-child ratio by
Sara
Researching which stroller to buy, I found Usenet and message board
posts by parents who seemed to have great fleets of strollers. I feel
we're being a tad excessive with three strollers to one child (plus a
toy stroller for Baby Doll), but I can justify them (a jogging
stroller, an umbrella...
