Parenting a wooden spoon by
Tracy Cramer
I'm quite frustrated with my 8 yo DS's behaviour and need some ideas.
He and his older sister are only 19 months apart and for the first 5 years of
his life, he relied on her for a lot. They played together and were best
friends, but for the past 3 years, they've drifted apart. I have no doubt...

Reading to a one year old by
jojo
Hi,
My DS is 13 months.
Until he was 12 months old I read to him sporadically, usually once per day,
but sometimes skipping
a day.
About the time he turned one I realized that I could be shortchanging him by
not reading to him every day,
so to make it easier I have incorporated it into his bedtime...

PE teachers by
Rosalie B.
I think one of the problems with PE is that the people that teach it are
usually those who enjoy it (which is logical after all) and are good at it.
So they sometimes have little empathy for those who are not so good.
Not all people who can do various skills are those who can also teach them.
They...

At wit's end (looooong) by
ColoradoSkiBum
From everything I've heard here military school is not a good option for my
SS. That conversation was evolving into a whole different conversation, so
I decided to start a new thread on a different subject.
We don't know what to do anymore. I've tried to write the whole story
below. It's going...

Getting kids started in sports by
Sophie
My daughter is 5 and is in her second year of taking gymnastics (once a week
for an hour). She had been saying next year she wanted to do ballet, which
would be fine with me. Now she's saying she wants to play soccer. Every
morning at the bus-stop the kids kick a ball around. To her, that's...

Jealous of mother-in-law by
Daniel
I'm a proud father of a lovely 8-month old girl. Lucky for me, I'm working
out of my home, so I can spend time during the day (if I choose to) with my
daughter.
However, my wife's mother spends a lot of time at our house, and my daughter
has grown rather attached to her. So much so, in fact,...

Tracey Lynn
Two children, my children, are being neglected and mistreated by their
father. No one will help me. Or should I say, help THEM. Can anyone?

Birthday party survey for school project by
Tyler C
I am researching parents' birthday party decisions for a school
project. If you have a daughter between the ages of 3-8, and wouldn't
mind spending 3-4 minutes filling out a survey (it is anonymous),
please go to http://www.freesurveysonline.com/fso/AskSurvey.fso?Survey=3354&CheckID=3010.
Thanks...

naptime stresses (long) by
Allie
I have been meaning to post about our naptime issues, but got
sidetracked by the "moving to a big bed" FAQ. I don't think we are to
that point yet, but I am considering it.
Anyways, here is the issue. DS has never been a great going to
bed/sleep through the night kid. Finally at 1 year we threw up...
