A healthy person is... by Pologirl
....someone who has not yet had enough tests. This past week I received a consultant followup letter suggesting my small babies (Monkey Boy, age 2, and the current pregnancy now at 29 weeks) might be due to IUGR, and because I have none of the usual medical reasons for IUGR perhaps look for an...

Is childbirth really that painful? by Ankmin
If childbirth is so painful, why do most women have multiple children? This doesn't make any sense to me.

Good Meals? by xkatx
Any ideas on good meals AND ones that are real cheap to make? I'm really on an extremely tight budget... Lately, we've been eating pork sausages, hash browns and mixed vegetables for supper :( Kids like it, but yesterday (3d day on this food) I was asked why we're eating sausages every day... I...

Nesting, Depressed or Losing my mind? by xkatx
Has to be one of those, but I'm not sure which one... The last few days, I've wanted to get rid of everything. I just want to go through everything, sort it out and not keep the junk, garbage or stuff that really doesn't matter. I feel like I want and need some sanity. Is this nesting to want to...

If you planned a homebirth but transferred to hospital by cjra
Did you plan a homebirth the next time? If so, did you encounter resistance from family and friends? from your gyn? How'd you deal? I know this is all still fresh (DD is 9 weeks now), so maybe my sensitivities are a bit high still. The meconium aspiration was totally random, and we don't expect...

AF question by Denise~*
OK, about 12 days ago I slightly spotted once, and cramped all day. It happened again on the 1st. Noting has happened though. I can only assume my body wants to start AF, but does anyone know why it's not? I realize this will be my first AF since having DS, but how weird is this?

Sharp pain by patty and adam
Looking for advice - I am having some slightly sharp pain in my lower right side. I am at 20 weeks. I had a previous c-section. It feels like it's right above and to the right of incision. Not anything excrutiating but like a sharp jab. Think it's just ligaments/muscles stretching or...

No more homebirths for me? by Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward
I'm reading the discussion on shoulder dystocia (subject: From Cochrane) and I'm very concerned about my chances of having a second homebirth. With the first one we had mild shoulder dystocia which caused the umbilical cord to be trapped momentarily. The midwife was able to release the baby...

MP3 players should carry warnings that users risk damage to their hearing by having the volume too high, a deafness charity says. first prenatal/what to ask re VBAC??? by [email protected]
I should have posted this earlier -- I've got my first real prenatal tomorrow morning (last week's ER episode doesn't count), and would love any suggestions about what to ask my new OB concerning a VBAC. We've moved to an HMO, so I can't get the OB I had for my first section, unfortunately, as he...

I am 7 weeks pregnant and woke up to a gush of blood and now slight spotting this morning. My husband and I had sex last time for the first time since I have been pregnant and I am wondering if that may have been the cause or if I should be worried about this being a sign of something else. I am...

spotting mid cycle after tubal ligation by Yiddishkeit
I am 4 weeks past tubal ligation. I had AF 2 weeks ago, and it was a very bad period, it started normal and then on day 3 I soaked a pad every 2 hours until day 5. Now I am on day 15 and am spotting/cramping a bit. Is this a normal thing for the first month or two after a tubal ligation? Thanks,
