New born weight loss by
Philly
My friend's baby, now 2 weeks and 3 days old, has been losing weight.
She was 7lb 12oz at birth and today weighs 7lb 4oz. My friend
desperately wants to continue breast feeding but her Health Visitor
told her this morning to 'buy a tin of formula and get her on the
bottle'. When I called this...

18 mo, barely eats solids? by
Sarah
Hello all, I have an 18 month old baby who nurses 10-20 times a day,
doesn't get his main sustenance from solid food. Is this bad? He'll
eat a very small amount of eggs and beans in morning, sip on diluted
juice throughout the day, now is starting to drink a few oz's of whole
cow's milk, and does...

Christening coming up...bottle advice needed by
Kathy
This Sunday is our dd's Christening. I know that all babies cry, and if
dd acts up during the service she certainly won't be the first or
last...however I'm hoping we can make it through without a major
explosion because when she cries, she CRIES!
For various reasons I choose not to BF in church...

For extended BFers - When did you stop NIP? by
Cathy Weeks
My daughter is nearly two years old now (23 months on wednesday), and
still LOVES to nurse, and we still do it in public. However, I'm
starting to feel a bit self-conscious, though I keep telling myself
not to be.
But I am. The cultural deep programming that children should be
weaned by now is...

Could this be milk allergy or something else? by
Anna
My daughter is 8.5 months and I'm still breastfeeding her but just
recently I started to give her some formula. First I tried the
ready-to-drink Similac Advanced formula and my daughter drank it
without any problems. Few days later I tried the Similac Advanced with
Iron and DHA and ARA formula in...

yet another question (night sweats) by
K-K
I know im probably getting anoying, sorry.
Is it normal while nursing to wake up in the night in a cold sweat? every
night I drench my PJ's I have no fever, and im not hot in any way, just cold
and wet. Is this because it has been so long since I have had a period?

OK, it's a bit unorthodox as a landmark, but we made it to 13 months of
EPing yesterday! I'm especially proud of this one because I've been
EPing with a PIS for a couple of weeks since taking my Symphony back
for
a mum of a newborn.

When to reintroduce pacifier/bottles after nipple confusion? by
Lora R
Hello, I'm a lurker and I've gotten so much great information from

of my own to ask, and I couldn't find the answer in the Google
archives.
My son is 6.5 weeks old and exclusively breastfed. At around 4 weeks,
everything was...

Is there a teat that's a more 'nipple like' shape (available in the UK) than
the standard bottle teats. Just getting prepared for when I have to go back
to work and a bottle has to be given in my absence. Anybody got any advice
to prevent any nipple confusion, I am not going to give up nursing,...
