I note that a gmailer with no usenet posting history has leapt in not

persistent biting by
Anne Rogers
Ada has just become a nightmare biter, I'm doing the standard stop the feed
when she bites, but she just isn't learning, I think this is because she
appears to be teething, but the result is she hasn't actually fed other than
suck suck suck bite for about 3 days!
What on earth to do, to complicate...

low weight gain by
Notchalk
I'm trying really hard not to get worried here, but I had Will weighed
today (he's 1 in 2 weeks), and he was only 8075gm! That's 17.8lbs.
This is way below the 3rd percentile. He was on the 50th at birth, and
has gradually slipped down since then. From what I've read, this is
considered FTT!! I...

argh constipated baby by

All you wise souls...
My almost 12 month old boy is still breastfeeding well, around 4 times
a day and 3 or so times a night. He drinks about 200ml of water a day
with food, too. He's not ever been a big eater, but lately he's been a
really cr@ppy eater. A teaspoon or two of breakfast (porridge...

Cow's Milk + Brown Sugar? by
xkatx
Anyone ever hear about something this far fetched? I don't know why it
popped into my mind, but back just before DD was born, MIL brought it up for
the first time... Saying something about how SHE would take DD whenever...
Shortly after DD was born, she had said the same thing... She'll take...

Another cloth diaper question... by
xkatx
I often find I follow the topics about cloth diapers... *I* use cloth
diapers for DD, but DH won't because he just can't seem to be able to pin
them and all that... He is also not a fan of rinsing diapers, so when he's
with DD, he opts for the disposables, and when we go out, I put DD...

Introducing solids by
peggy-o
My little boy is almost 7 months and we started to introduce solids. He
is still nursing every three hours as well. He seems totally
indifferent to the food. He's far more interested in bitting and
playing with the spoon than actually eating. My friends who use formula
seem to have kids that open...

plus-size nursing bras? by
KD
Greetings folks:
I need some help in finding retailers in Atlantic Canada that sell
larger size nursing bras. I was a DD before I got pregnant, and now
that I have a four week old son, am now making due with a DDD size I
found at Sears. It's not quite cutting it though, and the ones I have
are the...

Naps by

the swing, bouncy seat, car seat and stroller but NOT in the crib

Ok, so for some reason, this really really really ticks me off.
I don't understand why "new moms forums" exists and why they've chosen to
post all the content from these established usenet newsgroups.
A quick dash around their website shows, they've got a grand total of 31ish
members (woop doo)....

I was planning to purchase the Medela Pump in Style pump, but was just
told I can borrow the Ameda pump from WIC (I work for a health dept,
they have a few for employees). I don't know which model only that it's
"hospital grade and runs US$450. I just have to buy the kit.
I was thinking maybe I'd...

Motherhood - A Trivial Pursuit?
By Jacklyn Lee Lindstrom
You've no doubt heard of Trivial Pursuit, the popular board game based
on answering trivia questions. I've often thought that mothering is similar
to such a game. It seems we spend much of our time in a maze of trivia,
fumbling through the...

constipation problems (err, my own) by

I hope this isn't way OT. I haven't been regular since pregnancy. I have
done all the things they say to do, high fiber, lots of water, exercise,
etc, to no avail. I hate taking laxatives, and hope there is a natural
approach to solving this problem. Someone told me it might be a...

comfort sucking vs. drinking by
[email protected]
My son still takes a long time to eat at my bbs. He's never really
popped off when he's done...he just continues to suck at them until I
manually pop him off. I was always told that when he's done, he'll
come off. If I don't pop him off, it seems that he could go on
forever.
How do I know when...

questions about the mirena by

So, since I am close to getting an IUD, I'd like a little assurance that it
really is the way to go. I've heard alot of people say they loved it, but I
feel a little uneasy about having semi-permanent hardware hanging out in my
insides... The things I am most worried about are pain/discomfort,...
