4 weeks pp by
Anne Rogers
Time flies! I can't believe Ada is 4 weeks old today. We had her weighed on
Wednesday and she was 10lb6oz, almost 2lb up from her birth weight of
8lb8oz.
She rarely nurses to sleep and prefers to be able to see me when she is
going to sleep, which means having her in a moses basket isn't working...

OT bra fitting by
Anne Rogers
I'll be in Seattle next week and I'm considering getting fitted and
purchasing new bras, my current bras seem to fit ok, but are seriously worn
out. If I want to do this job in the US it has to be next week, I don't
think it will wait 'til October.
So, which stores have good fitters and a good...

birth injury? by
Anne Rogers
now, I'm well aware, that pregnancy in general has an effect on the pelvic
floor, but I'd be interested to see if what I'm about to describe would be
just caused by pregnancy, or as I suspect by birth itself.
Yesterday, for the first time someone actually examined my pelvic floor, not
exactly...

How you doing? did you get any further on whether or not you felt
comfortable with homebirth? how are you doing with your sugar control?
Cheers

feeling silly! by
Anne Rogers
So I'm lieing on the physicians table, prepped for an injection into my
symphysis pubis, they have to numb the skin and other tissue above the joint
with local anaesthetic, they tell me it will hurt, like a bee sting, I don't
think I've ever been stung by a bee though, first injection, that's...

Sad news - elfanie by
Anne Rogers
oh Stephanie, that is sad, doubly so after last time, have you had
miscarriages before? I know there are some tests doctors like to run after 2
in a row and there are things that can crop up even after multiple sucessful
pregnancies, though rare, I know that doesn't help right now, but it might...

reason for avoiding fast heart rate by
Anne Rogers
so, in some pregnancy books I've seen advice about exercise suggesting
to not have the heart rate go above a certain point, I assumed the
reason for this was that with no cooling mechanism, this avoids the baby
getting it's core temperature too high. I was just wondering if that was
really the...

update and blog by
Anne Rogers
I'm now past 12 weeks, though that doesn't feel particularly magical,
for some reason I'm acutely aware of the possibility of missed
miscarriage. In my other pregnancies I'd had a scan this point, both
were due to severe abdominal pain, though I'd have had one anyway in the
first pregnancy, I'd...

midwife appointment today by
Anne Rogers
I'd been looking forward to this one, though anxious too as at 13+2, we
hoped to hear the heartbeat - I'd been a bit paranoid in the last couple
of weeks, but more relaxed in the last couple of days as I did seem to
pop a little bit - not the type of popping that anyone else would
notice, but...

how it went by
Anne Rogers
This morning we met with the obsetrician and midwifery manager to discuss
our complaint.
It was emotional for me, but I was able to remain in control and though it
was painful, the expression of those emotions did not adversely affect how
the meeting progressed.
In the initial response to our...

OT recovering from nausea by
Anne Rogers
it's only OT because I'm not actually pregnant, but I'm asking here because
I guess the strategies are the same.
I've had pretty bad nausea since Monday, to the extent of not being able to
drink, had checks and whatnot, including going to the ER today as I was so
bad and had started other...

Ada is 3 months! by
Anne Rogers
yikes, time flies! She is a fabulous baby, she has gorgeous smiles and
giggles and shares plenty of them.
Though I've felt a little low over the past month, I'm not really depressed
as such, I'm taking meds and seeing people regularly and crossing my
fingers!
The bit that really sucks is my SPD...

early delivery for GBS by
Anne Rogers
I'd never heard of delivering early as a potential prevention of GBS
transmission. I was chatting to a women today who had GBS during her first
pregnancy, but wasn't detected, it's not routinely screened for in the UK,
her baby was one of the unlucky few that actually got sick and was in
intensive...

I hope I am remembering the right person, anyone a while back we were

thought it was unlikly to have any relevance to me as I don't have any skin
psoriasis, anyway today I discovered I have the tissue type that is...

are these good stats or not? by
Anne Rogers
stats from February at our local hospital, 62% spontaneous vaginal delivery
for first time mums, unfortunately I don't have the split of c-sections,
forceps, ventouse etc for the remaining 38%. I thought this was a pretty
good rate, possibly even very good, I know a little about what national...

anyone got any experience with vaginal prolapse by
Anne Rogers
I mentioned this a while back and you all sent me to see the doctor and told
me not to be embarrassed!
Anyway, I asked the lady doctor who fitted my Mirena, who said I definitely
had a prolapse, but she didn't really examine, just observed me bearing
down.
She said I needed to work on good bowel...

FAO Jamie by

I found the article, but it's not new, it was just linked from something I
read recently, here it is
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/2121935.stm
I also looked up stuff about how abortion is carried out, everything I saw
indicated that after 20-21 weeks an injection would be given to stop...

revisiting the c-section question by
Anne Rogers
I chatted with a friend on Sunday and it's brought a lot of worries back
to the surface. I think she feels a that I'm a bit too relaxed about
just seeing how things go and really fears that I may injure myself
during birth.
I've basically been working on the principle that I'll get warning and...
