infant vitamin supplements by
V.
At our 2 month checkup, the pediatrician recommended that we start giving
her a multivitamin. Actually, she recommended vitamin D supplementation b/c
we live in Maine, don't go outdoors right now unless completely bundled, and
Madi is quite fair skinned. She also said that she recommends giving...

I have got some work lined up so need to sort out this expressing
thing properly. Our health visitor told me to express 6oz, give it to
my bloke and leave him with the baby for 3 hours while I go shopping.
Bliss! 3 hours of shopping - prescribed! wthout a pushchair! just a
pity I haven't got...

stasya
Hi all,
Baby Rosie was born on January 4th, and was 8 lbs 12 ozs. We just came
back from her two month immunization. She's actually exactly 10 weeks
old. She measures now at 23 inches, and 13 lbs 3 ozs! Weight wise,
she's somewhere just past the 95th percentile.
The only thing that would make me...

FAO: Dr. Ruth by
New York Jen
Just wondering what you decided about your trip...I'm too lazy to google it,
but I think the last I saw you were planning on taking Joshua with you and
leaving within a week.
Hope you have a great trip and your mother heals well and quickly.
Also, I ordered a Hug-a-Bub carrier from your gleaming...

We all went through what I think might have been the flu. The ped said it
was a virus in any case when My 12YO daughter had a nasty cough for about 3
weeks ;(
Anyway, Nicolas woke up congested this morning. He is coughing badly enough
to wake him up when he is trying to sleep. It sounds raspy and...

Late baby, early first growth spurt? by
Sidheag McCormack
DS is 8 days old and today seems to be continually hungry. I was saying to
DH that it seemed like a growth spurt but it's too early - 3 weeks, 6
weeks, 3 months and 6 months being what I remember? DH pointed out that if
DS (born at 42 wks) had arrived on the EDD he *would* be 3 weeks old - so
maybe...

Need sources on gestational diabetes and bf immediately after labor by
jjmoreta
I have gestational diabetes and I'm looking for sources on the effect that
bf-ing immediately after birth has on a baby's sugar levels, especially on
babies born to GD mothers. The only citation I have is from Henci Goer, but
I'm looking for more. I'm hoping that maybe some of y'all have run...

Not quite breastfeeding but... by

There was a report on TV last night about stores selling out of date
baby products that can be lethal to your youngster.
If you're about to move on to baby food, check the "SELL BY" date
carefully.

hot/cold water by
Anne Rogers
I'm starting a new thread because I think this has come up in more than
one thread.
Depending on your water supply rinsing but not washing a pump in hot water
could be a bad instead of a good thing, this is because the system for
heating the water probably includes some storage allowing time for...

Child-led weaning by
[email protected]
Ds is just over 1yr old and is partially bf'd - one morning and one
evening feed.I don't know anyone personally who has let their child
wean themselves, in fact only my sister bf until her kids were 1. He
isn't really a comfort feeder and doesn't feed to sleep. His evening
feed is pretty short...

Oh no not again! by
Cuddlefish
Guess who has another staph infection in her breasts ?
Oh boy is it painful to breastfeed! One breast is all red, and the other
all lumpy! Both are very hot. However, I knew what to do this time -
straight to the doctor, and now I'm on a 14 day course of antibiotics.
I am determined to make my...

She's finally nursing again by
hobbes
Okay, it's been a full week now, so I'm pretty sure that this post won't
jinx things (but I'm knocking on lots of wood as I type). I think I can
announce that DD has finally ended her nursing strike. For those who don't
remember, she went for 5 days refusing to nurse AT ALL (except for maybe
once...

update on frustrated and getting resentful by
Liquid
Whew, I can safely say that that was a terrible couple of days for me.
I have been through a lot with this little guy, but that was the first
time that I felt totally out of control (even had to leave the room and
break a glass!). I am normally so much more competent and in control.
I guess after...

How do you know when you've got PND? I can't cope anymore. I'm dreading my
DP going back to work. I'm tired and weary and I'm fed up with having to
carry DS about in order that he doesn't cry. It's difficult going out to any
other venue cos DS was vaccinated with an icicle and any temp over...

Taking my own advice. by

So, I'm having real problems with this one breast - plugged duct by day 3,
mastitis by day for, blood blisters on the end of the nipple, scabbing, and
pain *all* *the* *time*, plus nursing is excrutiating. So I've got Soothies
on my nipples, per instructions of the ICBLCs at the hospital, and...
